At first impression Damon appears bored and uninvolved with social interaction, but he actually enjoys the company of people he invited into his life. He speaks bluntly and monotonously, which tends to drive people away. A bohemian and hedonistic in nature, he is rarely anxious and doesn't stress easily. Damon is an overall mellow guy, but can be quick to anger, depending on the situation. Something that would surprise even his closest friends is that Damon fixates and becomes obsessed with people that he has romantic feelings for. He has a very dependent personality and can drive his lovers away by his fear or rejection.
Despite being a relatively self-restrained person Damon can occasionally have the tendency to overindulge in anything that makes him feel good. He’s a serious drinker and smoker and probably his biggest flaw is that he refuses to break out of his unhealthy habits. Occasionally he will have a fleeting moment of self-realisation, which scares him, and ends up doing drugs to calm himself down.
Damon has no sense of smell. He’s not only a chain smoker, but has also broken his nose twice as a kid.
Damon is dyslexic and did terribly at school. Despite this, he’s very good with writing poetry and has written songs that no one else has heard. He’s also proficient with guitar.
Damon is a very messy individual. He sometimes eats dog food straight from the can and rarely wears underwear. He also hides dirty dishes in his drawers to hide them from his roommates so that no one suspects that he’s holding onto them - except when the household runs out of bowls.
Since Damon loses his shoes at a train station he walks barefoot everywhere, occasionally stopping to pick broken glass out of his feet. This doesn’t harm him as he’s built up calluses from being a feral child.
He was never bullied much in school as he was taller than everyone else in his grade.
BACKSTORY
Damon is the youngest of probably 10 siblings, his sister Jane being the second youngest. His mum has a latex allergy and therefore couldn’t use condoms as birth control, and instead opted for “pulling out.” Damon and Jane’s parents were largely neglectful, leaving their children to fend for themselves. One-by-one they all moved out as soon as they were able to, leaving the youngest ones at home. Jane passes on the opportunity to leave home when she turns 16 to make the decision to stay behind to look after her younger brother Damon (and to finish high school). Their parents actually end up moving out without Damon nor Jane noticing for months.
