Early Islamic mosaic adorning the outer rings of the Dome of the Rock. This illustration was based upon small B/W photo that contained only 4/5 of each dimension present in my submission, which means that quite a chunk of what you see has been pieced together using other sources.
This was also the first time I drew and painted walls that were decorated with a flat image already, so it proved to be quite a challenge. Most of the time I preferred structural surfaces, as they leave plenty of shortcuts and make covering up mistakes so much easier. So much for that, I guess.
