A live recording of me playing The Shadow of Your Smile from the gig I did this past Sunday — my first in almost a year because of Covid! This is probably the best I've ever played this piece, in spite of the mediocre recording quality (I asked our vocalist to take a video for me with my phone and then extracted the audio from it) and a couple of flubbed notes, both from me and from the rest of the band. Our band isn't, uh... the BEST one out there... but then, I doubt a better band would let me have my own solo feature ;)
...Wish those dang saxophones and the drummer would quiet down a lil and let me have my moment, though!
That thumbnail IS in fact me, by the way, from quite a while ago. Still love the vibe of that picture though. Felt like such a **jazz man** when the photographer showed me the final product lmao

Thanks Velz!! Honestly I don't think I could write something like this without some serious trial and error myself lmao. There are some crunchy chords in there! I think one of the other trombones in the band has copies of all the parts — maybe looking at those would help deconstruct some of the more complicated harmonies. If you're interested I could probably send you some!
There's another solo feature I have that I haven't gotten up to my usual standard yet, but once I do and actually get a chance to record it, I'll definitely be posting it!
