I've been meaning to share my thoughts on Morrowind for some time. Here you go--a short essay on what the game means to me. Enjoy.

my perspective as well. i don't get the point of simulating an alternative universe if all you can do in it is try to kill something or rob something. i mean isn't there already more then enough of that in the mundane world? and yet, that seems to be what sells. i suppose its better then players actually going out and doing such things, but yes, i prefer my alternative universe being one where i can actually build or explore things, where neither people or governments come along and destroy them, but instead also build strangeness instead of destroying. people can like what they like, but i think there is a problem with what the culture has become, and hope it will someday evolve to something better, which i believe it either will, or sapience will become extinct for a while on planet earth.
Me too. I'll do my best to share it with others.
You can even play Morrowind on Mac or Linux now, thanks to the OpenMW project. I have it installed now.
