Polly slowed her travel through the void of the cosmos, nearing the star that was her destination. It had been in the Red Giant stage of its life for several thousand years now, and was due to nova any year now. The residents of the system were already on the way out, with only a few sticking around (at a safe distance) to watch the show everyone knew was coming.
She smiled to the ships, and waved as he other hand cupped the star gently. "Happy birthday, to me~" Polly sang out, inhaled, then blew.
Plasma, various gasses, and the assorted miscellaneous elements that made up a star plumed out under her breath. The stellar gust throwing colors that had no names out into a nebula cloud. The core detonated in her palm, sending stardust scattering through the cloud. Polly shook what little remained of the star out of her hand, smiling as she sensed the cheers and birthday wishes from the departing ships.
If only she could remember how old she was.
Some people blow out candles on their birthday, Polly blows out stars.
