Past the kingdom of winter and towards the ocean--where the ice cracked beneath my feet and the great rime spires pierced the painted sky. A companion, scales darker than night and wings dappled with stars. Someone like me, someone who lies split between two worlds: the offspring of a forbidden union. I brushed his wing with my own, as if to make sure that he was not a figment of my worried imagination. To think that such a momentous discovery could be hiding in plain sight for so long...!

I have to see more of this world, don't I?
