Who knows. It could have been silence out of shock of what happened. Imagine if Rick hadn't agreed to take over after the audience was chanting for him. There could have been a riot in that gym. As noted in the past in this tale, Nutty is a very beloved mascot and two thousand fans just witnessed their beloved Nutty get badly injured by a member of the opposing team and taken out of the gym on a gurney.
