Mahou Shounen Night Wind Rikao
Art by Gmo0x0o (Twitter)!
From C.C.D. Twitter: I finally decided on re-writing this AU short-fic in a way to cope from depression. I thank my two specific friends on Discord for comforting me on a rough night, right after I have the best day with my friend. I grew to like the idea of Rikao x Chuchu but the pair came to be all thanks to a AU idea, owning a Chuchu plush and an RP story I really like but I have to tweak a lot to disassociate from said RP idea. I am open for RP ideas on this AU when ready!
The art is heavily based on the AU (and for a rare-pair) I really love! (Other than my obvious girl-love and boy-love that is.!) This is one the variants too, but I will upload the rest in the future.

Once upon a time, there was a rabbit girl with an ambition and dream to become a musician. Not an idol, but an artist.
"... Mama...! I want to play the guitar and sing some songs!!!"
"... You sure...? No... I can't..."
The rabbit girl, given the adoring name of Chuchu, ignored all warnings from her mother and father rabbit and worked hard to save up and earn her first guitar: Antique Batman. Her father loved comic books and thus gave that name to her guitar.
Why is she being warned to not become a musician...? Well...
Chuchu dislikes magic, tricks, and the supernatural. She loves a realistic dream and she really wants to earn it.
However, far to late: Her parents are slaughtered by a questionably angry mob of animal folk.
These strangers in question are seeking to take down a threat she had never known before. Something that her parents had intent to tell her when her emotions are ready. That never happened...
"KILL THE WITCH!!!" they shouted in repeat.
Chuchu takes Antique Batman and what she can bring and makes a run. Kill the Witch? What did that mean? As she ran in the rain, she had learned a grave discovery. Hitting her puberty, Chuchu somehow had magical abilities that ended up saving her life. For someone that does not believe in magic and raw ambition: All that is left is confusion and tears. She can't control her emotions, and she wailed out in grief for her family of magical rabbits.
As time grew by, Chuchu matured as a grown rabbit woman that somehow did not age, frozen in "time" as a witch in disguise of a top-hat idol. Chuchu had to keep running away from the mob, all the while attempting to be hired to various gigs with Antique Batman guitar to make a minimum wage enough to eat. Of course, she has to make sure that no witch hunters know that she is around, but having magic is difficult when she cannot control her powers... And her negative emotions. Day by day, her mana power would become even more powerful.
Loneliness is something that amplifies her inner darkness, and she wants to find some way to slow it down... All the while needing to cope with her loneliness. Every night is always tear fall. Her face ends up being puffy whenever she is hired for the guitarist filler...
She also cannot hold back this magical power she has. Thankfully, her free days are usually library visits to study on her ancestors and how to control her powers... As much she loathes it.
Two months later, she is able to learn a lot of spells that could be handy. Teleportation to transferring objects to her way without the need of walking out. It felt like cheating to her but if it meant to get away from the witch hunting mob: Chuchu must overcome her loathes and appreciate the little big magical traits she has. Yet, loneliness is still amplifying her dark emotions. She NEEDS a coping friend... But who would become one if the masses wanted her dead?
"I-I need someone..." she mumbles. "Someone I can come home with a hug... Mother..."
Chuchu would weep again, until a stranger gently spoke to her...
"... Are you okay... Yes?" said a gentle spoken but intimidating male wild dog. Chuchu nods her head up in her knees-on-face sitting position at the dark alleys. Her face is as red and sensitive from the excess crying.
"Y-Yes...?" she replies.
"... If you're lost, I can help you escort you to the police box..." said the wild dog.
She observes his body. What strikes her is the potentially expensive blazer coat in bright and bold colors. He would look like if that wild dog came from some sort of young boy's manga in some magazine rack. His eyes are sharp but she can also tell that he had visible signs of sleep-lacking. He holds a briefcase, metallic and black. His hair is kind of on a fuzzy yet "boyish manga hero" aesthetic. For someone who did not sleep too much: He is strikingly handsome. His ears are round with a pine cone shaped fluffy tail in dual-colored deep magenta and purple hues.
The mention of "police box" bothers her. Chuchu "would'' have called them for help, but the cops she spoke to gave her their impression as "the girl who cried wolf" and did not believe in any word she said. It took more than ten visits until she had lost hope in all humanity and probably made a hit-and-run in bloodshed. Months of being called a "witch" had started to engrave her mind, believing in all that she is meant to be: A monster that should never exist. Even the historic text books she read of her potential ancestors had snapped her enough to do horrible things using magic. Her favorite spells usually involve manipulating the brain and brainwashing the victims to do her bidding. Because of this, she became decently and financially stable enough to urvive with a good meal. But to cure loneliness is an entirely different issue.
Looking at this canine man, she somehow liked the "cool" aura around him. Maybe with a bit of magic, she can obtain what her mental illness needs for a long time. Getting up from her wall, Chuchu slowly walks over to him as she secretly chants a spell to gently brainwash him and manipulate his brain with intentions to "reprogram" him.
"I see... I'm fine sir... No... My son..."
"... Son...?"
"Yes... My son, please tell me your name...?" she gently asks in a soft, motherly tone to him. Her right hand is touching his cheek while his body grew stiff in shock and eyes looking down at the low-key gloomy rabbit woman.
"... Rikao."
"Rikao... My son. Oh my son... It's been so long... Beautiful and handsome. You have grown big and independent..."
"... Yes." he replies. This well suited male wild dog Rikao felt an internal and mental grind on his brain. Like the flickers from a TV, he cannot tell what Chuchu is doing to him. The two are frozen in their own time as the brain of Rikao starts to be re-written by Chuchu's magic to be her "adoptive son" by title as an additional tease. With him, she would feel like a mother role.
"... My son... Please be at my side. The world is a cruel, cruel world to us Witch and Sorcerer. Yes... You are the next heir to my blood and you will share my pain, struggle and love with me..."
"... Yes."
"... Good." said Chuchu. The magic spell is complete. With a Rikao who will listen to her words and emotional signals, he will be the first person to comfort the lonely rabbit woman who is now not lonesome.
Rikao would then instantly hug her for comfort. She needs it and he can tell. Finally, she cried her lungs out.
"... T-Thank you my Rikao-kun... Let's enjoy life together as a magical mother and son duo... We will take over this land and take revenge on those who took my entire life away..." said Chuchu, hugging Rikao tight like a friend and lover.
"... Yes... I will, as Night Wind Rikao..." in his own voice and words of determination to do as she says and seek revenge with his newfound inherited dark magic.
