I've recently learned that the man behind
Avarice_Panthera_Leo passed away in late March. I didn't know him well, but he was a fan of my work. I was one of the last people he commissioned, and he was really excited to see the finished result.
He gave me a lot of creative control, simply telling me the main things he wanted his character to experience.
It's also the longest commission I've ever done, so it's been taking up most of my attention for a while. I just wish I could've finished it earlier for him.
He was so excited to see it, but since he left it all to me, I wanted to have every sketch finished for him so that I could surprise him with it all. I incorporated everything he wanted in it.
He paid me for 5 pages and gave me creative freedom in what to do with it. Because of my own mistake with the first page, he ended up getting an additional two pages (the first page split into 3) that I was going to throw in for free.
Given that he wasn't answering me and gave me so much control over it, I decided to make it a father's day comic (which was the plan since around May).
I kinda wanted to surprise him with it all, which is why I found it about everything so late. I don't know how high this was in his list of priorities, but he was very excited to see it.
I'll be uploading the first three pages between now and June 20th. I'll upload the remaining pages a week from that date.
Also, "big reveal," sorta. This is an intro page, so not much happened here other than that. It was pretty obvious since they really always looked just a little too similar. The page is smaller than usual because of the initial mix-up.
This image has also been given the "General" rating, but the rest will be given a "Mature" and eventually "Adult" rating.
