This morning, on June 19th, 2021, we lost the wonderful Draconis to a stroke.

A presence in the furry community for over 20 years, Draconis had touched the lives of so many furries and will be deeply missed.
I had known of Draconis since first photographing him in his Jugular Jaguar fursuit, back at Anthrocon 2002.
We did not frequent many of the same cons until he became a regular in recent years at AnthrOhio and Mephit Furmeet.
It was at this time that I got to know him better, spending time talking with him during those periods when there were few fursuits out and about to photograph. He had a wonderful sense of humor and was always willing to share his experiences. Looking back, I now wish I had spent more time chatting with him.
In 2017, he started wearing his tiger fursuit, Chevy, and at both AnthrOhio and MFM, he would grab me and drag me around the con area (both of these cons have nice outdoor locations), doing photoshoots for upwards of an hour each. It was such a delight being able to get photos outside of the con itself and I will cherish the time we spent on these shoots.
I don't know what these cons will be like in the future without him being there, but they will be a little bit lessened because of this.
R.I.P. Draconis, and may you find your furry place in Heaven.
Thank you for everything you have done for furries and the furry community.

I'm so glad I was able to put Chevy back together for him and replace the missing feet. After Calamity Cougar disappeared, it gave him a fursuit to wear those final years.
We had just spoken on the phone a couple of weeks ago, and we were looking forward to seeing each other at MFM and were planning to have an evening meal together with
while we were there.
