This took absolutely forever, but I've finally got a new Jarvis ref done! I'm so happy with this design now, everything fits just right. :D
Here's his character info so it's on the new ref:
He was raised by a couple of supervillains, who passed just a bit of their disrespect of the law on to him, and he learned the standard set of 'thief/rogue skills' from his mother. Unlike his parents, he isn't an actual villain, as his personality is ill-suited to it, but one might still consider him ever-so-slightly dodgy (especially considering the ferret tendency towards swiping random objects).
At the age of 18, he was attacked by an insane and delusional vampire, who turned him instead of just killing him, for reasons known only to her...and then just left rather than waiting around for him to wake up, apparently forgetting about him. He doesn't know where she is now or if she's even still (un)alive, considering her confused state. The abilities gained from his transformation, along with the standard enhanced senses and faster healing, are greatly enhanced speed and reflexes and the ability to move completely silently (startling people with that last one is a guilty pleasure of his). He's also slightly stronger than he looks, but that really isn't saying much.
He's extremely playful and mischievous (as befitting his species); he greatly enjoys pestering and riling people up, especially if they respond in kind, but he doesn't like genuinely upsetting people. He's a bit immature in general -- understandably so, what with being an unaging teenager and all -- and he's both very easily amused (with a tendency to giggle like a hyena) and very distractable. He's also rather excitable, and he tends to be cheerful and energetic even when he should have no reason to be.
He's an incredibly friendly and outgoing person who gets lonely easily if he doesn't have anybody to talk to (and/or annoy). He can be rather naive and overly trusting, always assuming the best of people unless they prove him wrong, and also is usually pretty quick to forgive. Obviously, this sometimes works out badly for him, but sometimes it results in things like befriending actually-decent people who nobody else is willing to give a chance to.
He never (intentionally) bites anyone without their permission, and he tries his best not to take an unsafe amount of blood from anybody who's actually willing to be bitten (though they may have to fight/hit/yell at him a bit to get him to snap out of it and stop in time). Unfortunately, this means he's always kinda blood-starved, since he can't always find willing people and can't safely just drink his fill from them, so there's the risk of him flipping out and accidentally attacking somebody if it gets bad enough (though it rarely gets quite that bad). He's usually completely safe to be around, at least.
However, he's really, really bad at hiding the desire to bite people, even though he doesn't act on it, and he sometimes unintentionally creeps people out as a result. In general, he has the worst poker face, is a really terrible liar, and has the tendency to speak before he thinks -- and those things can definitely get him in even more trouble as a vampire. Somehow this never dissuades him from attempting to socialise with people all the time anyway.
Regarding regular food, many (if not most) vampires lose their taste for it, but Jarvis is definitely not one of them. He loved food in life and still does, even though it no longer has any nutritional value to him, thus he's prone to 'comfort eating', with his favourites being very sweet and/or very spicy things. He also drinks a lot of beverages of all sorts, which actually do serve a purpose in addition to the taste (lack of blood makes him feel both hungry and thirsty, and drinks can at least fix the latter).
At any given moment, he's likely to have something in his mouth, partially to keep it busy with something other than biting people and partially just plain oral fixation. In addition to eating and drinking as mentioned above, he also smokes (which is also useful for the appetite-suppressant effect), has a borderline-addiction to lollies, and has a habit of chewing up pens and pencils and such.
