An epic story indeed, one that goes for decades and culminates in a battle on a dying world. Alas I don't have the story published anywhere on FA because actually I'm trying to get a story that features Darrick published into William A. Sanborn's upcoming anthology Different Worlds, Different Skins Volume 2 Who knows, if this story does get published it might influence me to start writing even more of it ^^

i'm a writer myself, on the side mind you. Drawing is my main form of expression. I do wish i had enough talent to create my pictures using only words.

I see what you mean, though, it can be difficult to describe something well enough for it to be drawn.

They're both captives of human scientists. The little one has become a test subject for all sorts of things. :) I dunno if it's ok to say more, but I do like!

Hopefully you'll be able to get a chance if my story "Academy" gets published in an upcoming anthology. It's a verrrrry long backstory, though, one that has been developing in my head for almost 10 years so it's pretty detailed.

He's had a pair of biomechanical eyes inserted. So, perhaps?

The images that Darrick sees are regular vision with the ability to switch to nightvision, infrared, and telescopic. The eyes themselves do still have that mechanical "dead" look to them, though, like geordi's.

Bio-Mechanical implants that allow him to switch between Night vision, Infravision, and Telescopic. Definitely useful but that's pretty traumatic for a young kid to go through.

Well it's not TOO bad but yes, the poor kid really went through a lot *hugs him* At least he has his brother to be there for him during all this.

*nods* To an extent that is true, but fate has a lot more unpleasantness in store for Darrick. There'll actually be a story published about him in a furry anthology near the end of the year. Once I have more details I'll post them on my site ^^
