I'm really proud of this one. I tried a new technique for the stars, I first painted everything black and then sprayed the stars with a coarse brush and enamel paint. I covered the center and the ship while doing that. Later I added the black hole with it's gravitational lensing (bending light through gravity). I never saw this effect drawn, but there were decent computer simulations for reference.
The ship is a clone wars era republic Consular class corvette from Star Wars. I always liked that ship with it's low mass and gigantic engines, just the right ship to escape a black hole.
