I recorded this for two reasons. 1, so people could fav it if they feel like it, and 2, because I thought it'd sound better in general if I read it aloud.
BTW, if this gets taken down for being offensive, it will be the most supreme irony in history.

A while back on Everybody Draw Muhammad Day, I did my own drawing of the Prophet of Islam. It was the crudest stick-figure doodle I could make, and it had Muhammad saying, "Boy oh boy! There's nothing I like more than taking it up the ass from JEWS!" while getting buttfucked by a happy smiling Jewish fellow. And then to be just a little bit more of a dick I added, "...and eating porkchops".
Needless to say, this was taken down by the admins after a short time. But I don't blame the admins. I was told that four different people had reported it as being offensive. Despite there being plenty of equally-disrespectful images of Jesus on the site. Which once again shows that Islam has a protected status; that we go out of our way to shield it from insult, even though it has done absolutely nothing to earn such behavior. (I thought it was only Muslims themselves that are supposed to submit slavishly to Islam...)
But that's neither here nor there. The point is that people were OFFENDED by my cartoon. But why? Because it was disrespectful, obviously. But why? Because it showed the Prophet doing things the Prophet would never do. But why? Because those things are immoral. But WHY?
And this is my central point: I specifically designed my cartoon so that it would only be offensive to people who had an irrational perception of the activities depicted. That may be a little hard to grasp at first, so I'll break it down for ya.
If I had drawn a picture of Muhammad eating an apple, would anyone be offended? Okay, yes; someone might be offended that I drew him in the first place. But would anyone be offended by him just eating an apple? No. So why would it be any different if I showed him eating pork? Oh, because eating pork is wrong for Muslims. Yet is there anything in REALITY to suggest that eating pork is wrong? Sure, the apple might be healthier for you, but is pork deadly? Is it poison? Does everyone who eats it die in agony as soon as it touches their lips? Has the Earth ever opened up and swallowed a pig-eater directly into the bowels of Hell?
No. So we can safely say that the belief that eating pork is immoral is an IRRATIONAL belief. It's not irrational to say that it's not good for your cholesterol, or that you might get trichinosis. But it is irrational to say that pork will destroy your soul.
So the reason why people would be more offended by me drawing Muhammad eating pork instead of eating an apple, is that they have an irrational belief about the pork. And without the irrational belief, there cannot be offense.
Got that? THE OFFENSE ONLY EXISTS BECAUSE OF AN IRRATIONAL BELIEF.
That's why, in my drawing, I made a special effort to show that Muhammad was having sex with a Jew, because Muslims also have an irrational belief that Jews are inhuman and they all deserve to die. (And just because all Muslims don't personally believe this doesn't change the fact that it's written right there in their handbook.) I knew I would hurt them if I showed their prophet having anal sex with a man, but I knew it'd sting far more if that man was a Jew. Similarly, I would love to get in a fight with a white racist sometime, so I could say that his momma fucks niggers. I have nothing against black people and think that racism is also completely irrational. But this person would have chosen to believe that black people are bad. So because of his choice, I know that I can enrage him by putting the mental image into his head of his mother crammed full of black cock.
There is nothing wrong with using someone's irrational beliefs to ridicule and humiliate them. Assuming, of course, that they have done something to deserve this treatment. But in some cases, the irrational belief ITSELF is so offensive to truth and reason that the person who chooses to believe in it deserves ridicule and humiliation just for believing in it.
There is a difference between being deliberately offensive to someone because of their race, gender or other physical condition, and being deliberately offensive to them because of their beliefs. Beliefs are always a choice. We generally approve of people speaking out against racists, but think it's impolite to attack someone's religious viewpoints. Yet there is no difference whatsoever between racism and religion, in that they are both chosen beliefs. No one is ever born thinking that their skin color makes them a superior being, and no one is ever born believing in a certain god. These beliefs must be learned, and we are responsible for whether or not we choose to accept the things we are taught.
There is absolutely nothing in reality to suggest that homosexuality is wrong or unnatural or immoral. So when someone chooses to believe this anyway, I have no problem with using their irrational belief to hurt them. The ONLY reason why Muslims are offended by my drawing Muhammad having gay sex is because they choose to believe that homosexuality is a filthy sin. If they didn't believe such nonsense, my drawing would be as inoffensive as Muhammad eating an apple.
Probably most people who saw my drawing thought it was just juvenile mean spiritedness. Some people told me they agreed with the idea, but thought it was rude of me to have posted it. And I even apologized for it a few times, which I shouldn't have. Because it was very carefully designed so that everything in it which could be called offensive could ONLY be called offensive by someone with an irrational belief.
The reference to Muhammad eating porkchops is only offensive to someone who chooses to believe eating pork is a sin.
The depiction of Muhammad having gay sex is only offensive to someone who chooses to believe that homosexuality is immoral.
The depiction of a Jew having sex with Muhammad is only offensive to someone who chooses to believe that Jews are an inferior race.
The depiction of Muhammad, just by itself, is only offensive to someone who chooses to believe that depicting Muhammad is a sin.
The only reason I needed to mark my submission as 'adult' was because the depiction of two consenting people having sex is considered wrong by people who hold the irrational belief that images of sex are somehow harmful to people of certain ages, despite absolutely no scientific evidence of this whatsoever.
Don't you dare start thinking that you're too smart to believe something unproven, irrational and untrue. Next time you get offended by something, ask yourself why. Keep asking why until you get to the core of your belief. See if it makes any sense.
You know what offends me? Cruelty, dishonesty, cowardice and willful ignorance. I think those are some much better things to be offended by than two stick-figures fucking.
P.S. If you were offended by my use of the word 'fuck'... See if you can guess what I think about that.

Very good Points you make here
Racism and religion are indeed choices they are iether learned or chosen by everyone or at least 95% of the Worlds Population
i myself Choose to belief in Jesus and what he did and i also choose to belive that homosexuality is NOT a bad thing

There are plenty of things we do or believe, and we never pause to consider their origin. (Just yesterday my friend was amazed to learn that 'waving hello' developed as a way to show you were unarmed.) When we don't think about what we believe, then we can't tell if those beliefs are causing harm. The problem with religion (and paranoid schizophrenia too, now that I think about it) is that it's built into the belief that you must never question. Even if I disagree strongly with someone's belief, if they can give me reasons for how they came to that belief, I'll give them that respect. Too often we believe just because someone told us, and that's apparently good enough.

Yeah, what is the difference anyway? The reason aduio journals are not allwoed is "because FA already has a journal function", but they still allow journal comics, and we already have a journal function. Maybe people want to exprss themselves using audio rather than text, has that ever crossed the mind of the geniuses behind the AUP?
Yeah that whole thing was a huge mess. The real thing at stake is free speech. Mohammed doesn't belong soley to radical Islam, or to Islam, he belongs to the world. Whether or not he is real, or magical, it doesn't really matter. He's a historical figure, and a character.
Now, they say that Islamic folks are specifically told to fuck up whoever creates an image of Mohammed, so while you can do that you should choose not to. I'm not sure of other religions that have rules like that, really. The Christians aren't likely to make fun of Jesus but they don't have a rule that says 'Go fuck up anyone who draws pictures of him!'. Still, if they're offended by something they should just change the channel. If they think it's okay to kill someone over that, they should be stopped and "Dealt With". If you're not personally offended but think it's in bad taste, don't watch it, but don't tell me what I can or can't make fun of.
Note: I'm offended by people who are offended by the use of the word Fuck, as well as any other 'swears'. They are ENGLISH words, the WORDS OF MY ANCESTORS. Do you have a problem with the ENGLISH LANGUAGE!?!?!? Do you think the language of MY PEOPLE is FOUL!? The fact that certain words are banned on television and radio, and taboo in conversation sort of disgusts me. It's not what you say it's why you say it. Offense is in the tone, not the word. If not fuck then frack, if not frack than frig, if not frig then fudge, it's all the same shit. It's not what you say it's what you mean.

Actually, they do. Remember the Ten Commandments? "Thou shall not make unto thee any graven image"? It's the same fucking rule in both books; the only difference is interpretation. Muslims think it means, 'never depict the Prophet ever', Christians ignore it, and Catholics REALLY ignore it with all their little statues.
>If you're not personally offended but think it's in bad taste, don't watch it, but don't tell me what I can or can't make fun of.
Whenever anyone tells me 'You shouldn't say that!', not because it's wrong but because it might hurt their feelings, I just laugh and say it more. People whose feelings are hurt by reality deserve it until they toughen the fuck up. Like, someone could call me a fat slobby sack of shit and I'd be like, "...And!?"

I actually hate when my little brother say "fuck", sometimes tell him to try and use other words instead.
Not because of the word, if he's talking about fucking it's all ok. But that he uses it like this (and this quote is translated, except "fuck" because he said it in English already):
"I went all fuck and fuck then it fuck over and fuck... uhm like, fucking fuck!" when describing how he shot a bunch of aliens in Halo 3, I think. I know he was trying to say something about the game at least, because he was gesturing at the screen whilst speaking.
Frighteningly enough, his friends seemed to completely understand it.
(by "using other words instead", I mean the words you need to make a coherent sentence. He seems to think saying "fuck" instead of every other word, no matter which word, makes him seem more mature or cool...)

"Don't you dare start thinking that you're too smart to believe something unproven, irrational and untrue." this is a really good point, smart people are actually easier to trick because they think that becasue they are smart nothing can ever trick them.
I jsut don't understand religious peple. I know a few and have asked most of them why they believe, and all of them has answered something like "it makes me feel good", "I dont wanna risk gonig to hell", "I grew up with it, I guess", or "I saw the people of that religion do good deeds". NEVER have I encountered someone religious who's answered with "Becasue I have good reason to think that its true".
Am I overestimating people when I ask them to realize that jsut because something makes ou feel good, it doesn't mean that it is true, or that just bcasue you think it's obvious, self-evident or cant think of any other pausible alternatives doesnt mean its true? Espescially the "I saw good deeds being done" baffles me. I saw people doing good too, and it made me believe in people , I just cant see the logical pathway from "people do good things" to "therefor, god exists".
My submission for draw Muhammad day was a really blatantly offensive drawing and a long lecture about the different side of islam and the danger of reducing any group ot a single stereotype.

>this is a really good point, smart people are actually easier to trick because they think that becasue they are smart nothing can ever trick them.
That's also a good point. The smart person has to be wary of falling into the trap of too much confidence in his intelligence. You start being more concerned with convincing yourself you're always right, than actually checking your facts and revising your views to be sure you are. I've known people who knew plenty of facts but couldn't reason worth a damn.
>I know a few and have asked most of them why they believe, and all of them has answered something like "it makes me feel good", "I dont wanna risk gonig to hell", "I grew up with it, I guess", or "I saw the people of that religion do good deeds".
I won't go into a long rant, but all of those reasons are so fucking illogical they give me a migraine...
>NEVER have I encountered someone religious who's answered with "Becasue I have good reason to think that its true".
I don't think I have either, but I'm not 100% sure. I seem to remember a guy who liked some Eastern religion because he agreed with the philosophy. And I'm fine with that. I'd even be fine with someone just admitting they're a Christian because it allows them to get away with hating gays. It's disgusting, sure, but at least it's honest.
>jsut because something makes ou feel good, it doesn't mean that it is true
"I choose to believe I have a seventeen-inch penis and a million dollars, because it makes me feel good!" Let's see how well that works out. ;)
>Espescially the "I saw good deeds being done" baffles me. I saw people doing good too, and it made me believe in people , I just cant see the logical pathway from "people do good things" to "therefor, god exists".
It's not about logic, it's about emotion. I think a lot of religious people are hooked on the emotions they get from their religions. Do junkies have logical reasons for continuintg to use drugs? Of course not. They're addicted to the fix they get and can't stop if they wanted to. For religious people, I think some of them get so stuck in the lifestyle and the feeling of self-righteousness that it becomes like when a cartoon character falls off a cliff: they don't dare look down for fear of realizing they're standing on nothing.

Audio journals aren't allowed? I never knew that i just thought everyone had issues about there voice.
Indeed change the title save the journal.
Indeed it is so that everything boils down to independent veiws. There is no such thing as being offensive for something has to be against ones morals in order to be so. Since every one has there own independent veiws on what thouse are then what offends one will not the other.
I like your point on the fact that all morals are learned behaivors and noone is born with them in mind.
Behaivor and the way one acts is a choice and not hardwired, nothing is hardwired. Why are some born more agressive than others is a learned trait. Something we chose, if we are taught what is right and wrong we will belive that to be so. Accepting thouse taught morals is only a choice.

We're like computers, and morals are like software. We don't come with any; just the capacity to install them.

Actually, I think a hell of a lot of stuff about our behavior IS hardwired into us, via our genes. But still, having a predisposition towards something doesn't mean you HAVE to become that. Hell, I came out of the womb of a sociopath, and very easily could have become one too if I hadn't made the choice to change myself.

ACTUALLY, if I did that then I *wouldn't* be politically correct!
There are a variety of tribes up there in the great white yonder, and not all of them are Inuits. Calling all Eskimos Inuits happens to be trendy right now, but it's about as correct as calling all Americans Texans.

saying that the fact that muslim not eating pôrk is irrational is being close-minded and self-centered, and not realizing that any principle of any religion technically doesn't make any fucking sense either. catholism or anything else isn't excluded fom it. it's not because it isn't part of your beliefs that it isn't less valid than any of your own principles.
th fact is, the man was being a fucking biggot and is now throwing a public bitchfit about how a retarded offensive piece was was taken down. dig your way out of your own navel, open your mind to what is going on around you, instead of being an idiot who automatically defends someone because you like their art.
tho i'm accused of being a troll while i'm just being rational, so i'm going to live up to the blame and call you a fucking retard so you can feel self-righteous, not gonna deny you that you mentally-challenged you. B)
grow a judgement already.

tho i'm accused of being a troll while i'm just being rational, so i'm going to live up to the blame and call you a fucking retard so you can feel self-righteous, not gonna deny you that you mentally-challenged you. B)
grow a judgement already.
>>> saying that the fact that muslim not eating pôrk is irrational
...huh? could you please type so that we actually understand you? also, what is "pôrk"?

i have an intensely hard time taking you seriously when you can't even spell "the" correctly. i understand occasional typos, but this is just silly.
1: bigot (that's ONE 'g'): n. a person who is utterly intolerant of any differing creed, belief, or opinion. http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/bigot
counterexample: just about any of his rant journals. many people challenge his ideas, and yet he logically and rationally converses with them.
2: "public bitchfit" ...wow. no. just no. this is, essentially, a journal. at the most, it is a lament.
3: "about how a retarded offensive piece was was taken down" ...you REALLY missed the point of this, didn't you? this is about illogical beliefs, not complaining about art. i could not find a single complaint in there about the art.
3.a: the word "retarded" cannot apply to an inanimate object. hence, you once again demonstrated your lack of elegance with words.
4: "dig your way out of your own navel" ...whoa, whoa. what? what, exactly, is that supposed to mean? if it was meant as an insult, it utterly failed. i hope you meant that as a joke, because all it summoned was laughter.
5: "instead of being an idiot who automatically defends someone because you like their art." ...i don't. in fact, i dislike his art. i enjoy his writing, but not his visual (i.e., non-textual) art. and i don't even like all of his writing. only a small amount.
6: "grow a judgement already." what is that supposed to mean?

first off, i'm gonna say that despite your general disrespect to me (as i wasn't addressing you at all in this matter), i respect the fact that you're holding up an argument in a somehow intelligent manner. that is good. actually makes me want not to just blatantly be a jerk to you.
second, i honestly don't feel offended by the typo thing, as english isn't my first language, and that just the fact that i am more than conversational with it makes me less than give a crap about the fact that i make some grammar mistake. B)
i am stating my opinion as much as he stated his own. i think that claiming a religion is irrational, and using it as an excuse to create an offensive illustration, is absolutely missing the point of religion in general. the whole basis of religion is faith, things that cannot be proved with science or logic. this is the exact basis of religious beliefs, and something that should be respected. you don't need to agree with something to not show utter disrespect.

> If you were offended by my use of the word 'fuck'... See if you can guess what I think about that.
If you're fucking offended by the fucking word Fuck you can fucking go fuck your fucking self!
...That sentence sounds like a hard up chicken. Or Rahm Emanuel.
I drew Mohamed too, and my picture is still up: Mo freaks out while Jesus and Moses roll their eyes and say, "Welcome to the club." If anyone saw it (which I doubt!) they probably thought it was at least halfway respectful. Either that or my refuge in blandness did it.
I thought my other picture would have gotten more reaction - depicting a pig as a Militant Muslim. (Badly drawn) Mohogmed holds an (also badly drawn) AK-47, so he's pretty clearly from the wrong time period. I probably slipped under the radar again because a) the title was Prepare For Jihad, and 2) my refuge in relative blandness, and iii) again nobody noticed. I'm fairly sure my transmitted intent was different: I wasn't making fun of the prophet, I was making fun of the people that got offended!
Now that I think of it, wild pigs have about the same temperament as religious nuts. And sweaty dynamite.
Unto you, your religion; and unto me, my religion. --Surah 109

ROTFL!!! Wow, that is such utter bullshit! How many other passages in the Koran deal with slaying the fuck outta infidels? Sorry Muhammad; you ain't getting off the hook THAT easy! ;)
>Now that I think of it, wild pigs have about the same temperament as religious nuts. And sweaty dynamite.
Actually, if memory serves, wild pigs tend to be clean, smart and gregarious. That is, unless we breed them to be morbidly obese and lie in filth so they're easier to kill 'n eat.

Don't get me wrong, any wild or feral animal is dangerous. A boar can easily do as much damage to you as a bull. At least one state permits shooting 'em on sight.
Who let the hogs out? (Oink! Oink oink oink!)
...I'm getting off subject again.

>What do they do? Stomp on you if they spot you?
Yes. As in, they have poor eyesight and will trample to death absolutely anything that gets near them. Plus, their mouths are big enough to bite you in fucking half with no effort. Hippos are indiscriminate murdering bastards.

Yeah, I had to think about that while I was composing this. The unfortunate truth is, we ARE born racist. Or at least xenophobic. It made sense in the ages when anyone outside your tribe was likely to kill you on sight. Now, not so much. Yet another case of obsolete caveman instincts fucking us up in the 21st century.
while i agree to the theory that certain religions take priority when being attacked by criticism but i dont agree to insult some one purely on their beliefs just because they are devoted to them since very few people will take to the belief on their own accord and generally it is being pushed on by their parents or another key figure in their life
At the end of the day what is life, without beleif life is nothing, now i dont mean beleif in a god, i mean beleif in life itself, if life was believed to have no meaning or purpose then we'd all kill ourselfs, without beleif we cannot be who we are, each beleif adds up to the being of a person and i dont agree in insulting some one over their beleifs unless provoked to do so where an action would need to be taken
You didn't answer my question. What if someone believed you were a sinner and it was their right to kill you. Would you be okay with letting them keep that belief? What if they just believed they had the right to kill *other* people? Would you still not challenge it then?
>without beleif we cannot be who we are, each beleif adds up to the being of a person and i dont agree in insulting some one over their beleifs unless provoked to do so where an action would need to be taken
Are you saying that belief is important and sacred, regardless of what that belief is> That it doesn't matter what we believe in, so long as we believe in something?
If I am aware that another person believes something that is a lie, and I say nothing, then I am wronging him by allowing him to continue believing a lie. If I am aware that another person believes something evil, and they act on that belief and commit evil, then am I partly responsible because I said and did nothing? And cared more for his belief than who he might hurt with it?

i did state i only approve of taken action when the belief has an impact on your being to which would require an action to be taken,
at the end of the day everything in this world that we know is a belief, just because u disagree with some one else over their beliefs it shouldn't give you the right to insult them just because you want to make ur self look superior
each person has their own beliefs and thus their own being, if every ones belief was identical then every ones personality would be identical too
though with u asking me on what you should do again its on your own belief and personality that would deem an action though i personally would allow said person to carry on in a belief as long as they are happy and the belief isnt causing harm to anything else
at the end of the day we all got problems and lifes too short to fix every one else and your own problems so just leave them be and just keep on having fun till the dude in the black cloak comes and takes u on the river styx

Which is why I asked about someone having a belief that says it's okay for them to hurt other people. It's one thing to say you'd take action if their belief could have an impact on you, but what about others?
>at the end of the day everything in this world that we know is a belief,
That does not, in ANY way, mean that all beliefs are equal.
If one belief is supported by mountains of evidence, and another is supported only by mental illness, then one belief is correct, and the other isn't.
>just because u disagree with some one else over their beliefs it shouldn't give you the right to insult them just because you want to make ur self look superior
The purpose of pointing out when someone is wrong shouldn't have anything to do with making yourself feel superior. When I point out that someone is wrong, it's because I believe that THE TRUTH MATTERS MORE THAN ANY OF US DO.
>though i personally would allow said person to carry on in a belief as long as they are happy and the belief isnt causing harm to anything else
1. What if that happiness isn't permanent? What if someone believes something based on a lie, which will give them a little temporary happiness, but then lead to a much longer period of grief and suffering. For instance, you know that a friend's spouse is unfaithful. Because your friend believes their spouse IS faithful, you let them carry that belief. Then when they inevitably find out the truth, it hurts them more because they believed so long in a lie.
2. How do you determine harm? Is it just direct violence? What if someone believes something that will make them make bad decisions later in life? What if they believe something that will ruin their chances for future happiness? What if they believe something that, if they pass it on to their kids, will destroy that child's chances for clear thinking? That's all harm, just more abstract.
>at the end of the day we all got problems and lifes too short to fix every one else and your own problems so just leave them be and just keep on having fun till the dude in the black cloak comes and takes u on the river styx
That sounds appallingly selfish.
BECAUSE this world is so shitty, I feel a GREATER responsibility to change what I can in my lifetime; not just for me, but for anyone else I can. To say, 'Well, there's too many problems to fix, so I won't even try!' sounds like cowardice to me. It doesn't MATTER that we can never change it all. What matters is that we do our best to change what we can.
A while ago I made the decision to be as completely honest as I could be. To not say anything unless I truly meant it, to not make any promises unless I was 100% sure I could keep them, and to not believe anything unless I was sure there was good reason to. I have never once regretted this decision. And it helped me see how much needless suffering is caused by our culture's tolerance of dishonesty. To allow someone to believe a lie, because you think it's rude to correct them, is like not offering aid to a person in need of medical help. Lies are like viruses. They never help; they only hurt. When I see a person whose mind is full of lies, for me it's like looking at a person covered in leeches. I don't give a shit about their protests; I'm going to do whatever I can to rip those leeches off.
If you believe it's wrong to question someone else's beliefs, I want you to think real hard about WHY you believe that. About WHERE that belief came from. Who taught it to you? And is it possible there was an agenda behind it? Like maybe the people who push that idea want to ensure that people don't think to hard about what they believe? So they create a culture that stifles criticism, and therefore prevents anyone from being challenged on their beliefs and being forced to question them? If your beliefs are never challenged, then they grow rusty. Constantly reevaluating them is like sharpening a sword. The absolute best thing for your beliefs is regular criticism.

If u want to question my humanity and my personality id gladly show u but dont dare try and say u figured me out when u hold very little understanding of the contex or view point of my state ments, in all honesty my belief is that life is pointless to the man who is blind to the world, yet priceless to the man blinded by it. I dont try and state i know, all i state is theorys, you do what u will with your life and ill do what i want with mine, since if i acted to change some ones being, making them unhappy then im going against my way of life, my goal in life is just to be content and happy as much as i can for what fleeting time i have on this rock but the thing about me saying solve your problems out was taken in a completly different context than what it was meant, i am just stating the fact what makes your belief better than every one else? Just because the majority belief it to be correct doesnt mean it is, heck charles darwinstheory of evolution against the church is a prime example, you cant say with absolute certainty that what u see and do is real, heck god could be real for all we know since there is no absolute proof he doesnt exist

THAT IS ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE REASONING.
For one, I am fairly sure that more people believe in the church than believe the reality of evolution, and by a pretty wide margin. For second, the boogeyman could be real because there is no absolute proof he doesn't exist. Same for leprechauns, goblins and Scooby Doo. Can you PROVE Scooby Doo doesn't exist?

okay im going to be straight with you, i could argue the points all day, but the fact remains nothing we know is certain, we have no viable proof that we are the only real being in the world and every thing else is a computer generated AI software, its highly unlikely but there is no definitive proof other wise,
at the end of the day if you try and deduce what a person is to you, you are collecting all their beliefs that you know and then that leaves you with who ever your thinking of, without belief there would be nothing
to insult some one on their upbringing which made them belief what they do is just wrong, and especially if you don't know the guy, heck im an atheist but i dont run up to every christian i see and say HEY YOUR AN IDIOT YOU CANT PROVE GOD EXIST HAHA IM BETTER THAN YOU.
just be nice to every one and the worlds great, be shitty to every one and your worlds going to kick you up your ass hard, do what you will with your life since its your belief that guides your actions and I'll do the same with mine, though this is the last time im messaging back since this is pointless since neither you nor I would of given up this issue unless some one said they're bored of the petty arguments, especially when you only consider my words on one plain of thought

<facepalm> Dude, your reasoning does not match your conclusions. You are not arguing with logic. You are telling me what you choose to believe and then saying I should agree with you. You are not giving me real reasons.

That is such a sad, naive lie. I genuinely feel sorry for you if you believe that.

Long story short; three counselors at a camp for kids with mental and physical handicaps were driving to work when they crashed into a tree and died. Three people who chose to spend their time doing some of the most noble work imaginable, are FUCKING DEAD, because of a car accident.
On the other hand, George W. Bush and Dick Cheney started a war in Iraq based solely on lies, which has so far resulted in nearly six thousand dead Americans and over one hundred thoudand dead Iraquis. These men are guilty of THOUSANDS OF MURDERS. Yet they will face absolutely no consequences for their acts.
THERE IS NO KARMA.
There is no all-powerful force that rewards the good and punishes the evil. Truly good people get shit on by life and rude, arrogant liars prosper.
AND SINCE THERE IS NO COSMIC FORCE TO METE OUT JUSTICE, THAT MEANS IT'S UP TO US. YOU, ME, EVERYBODY! SINCE THERE IS NO ONE ELSE TO DO IT, IT IS UP TO US TO REWARD GOOD AND TRY TO PREVENT EVIL. IT'S US, IT'S ONLY US.
If you assume that your life will be great if you're just nice enough to people, then you are in for a horrible shock somewhere down the line, my friend. I feel for you and I wish I could help you. But until you stop wishing and start looking at how the world really is, you are like a man driving down the highway blindfolded. It's not a matter of if you'll crash, just when.

okay i know i said i wouldnt reply but you have one huge misconception to the fact i believe in KARMA, no i dont i believe were stuck in shit and we deal with it but what i was saying is if every single person on earth was nice then it would be a nicer place to live
The logic is, if every one was against you with vore? and it was believed to be wrong by them and they tried to force their belief on you, wouldnt u be pissed, just let people believe what ever they want as long as it doesnt hurt any one who gives a dam,
all i was trying to say is without belief there wouldnt be anything since all knowledge is belief on something u have been told or something you have witnessed
but seriously u try and find things in what people do and say to try and insult some one but without knowing anything about them since in all honesty ive been through shit almost all of my school life and yet i try and be nice to people, i dont believe in karma but i do believe you can make good stuff happen, at the end of the day a smile is contagious

I never said you believed specifically in karma. But you did say: "just be nice to every one and the worlds great, be shitty to every one and your worlds going to kick you up your ass hard"
In my experience, the rude bastards get away with everything and the truly good people get trampled on. It's like a hard-working guy who thinks his years of dedicated service to his company will actually mean a damn thing if the CEO realizes he can make a few million more by downsizing him and a hundred other employees.
>if every single person on earth was nice then it would be a nicer place to live
If every single banana on Earth was blue, then we'd all eat blue bananas. But they aren't. And they never will be. So it's a daydream, nothing more.
YES, being nice to people can make the world better. BUT IT'S NOT ENOUGH. We need some people to be nice and other people to be confrontational. BOTH our approaches are right, depending on the situation. You're right; I wouldn't go up and start fucking with some Christian who was just minding their own business. But I'd absolutely go up and start fucking with some Christian who had a sign saying that ALL FAGS MUST DIE. Nothing I do to them can be ruder than what they're already doing.
And confrontation doesn't have to be rude. Imagine that someone you love is hooked on drugs. They believe firmly that they have no problem, but anyone else can see that they're destroying their life. Would you stand by and let them believe that they're fine? Or would you intervene and try to help them, for their own sake?
>The logic is, if every one was against you with vore? and it was believed to be wrong by them and they tried to force their belief on you, wouldnt u be pissed, just let people believe what ever they want as long as it doesnt hurt any one who gives a dam,
BUT WHAT IF IT DOES HURT SOMEONE!? THAT'S MY WHOLE POINT!!!
You said what if everyone was against vore. Well, a lot of people are. And a LOT of people are against cub porn, which I draw, and they DO try to force their opinion on me. You know what I do? I tell them to fuck off! Because I know for a fact that drawings can never hurt people.
On the other hand, if I write a journal and I get my facts wrong, I honestly HOPE that people will correct me! There is absolutely nothing rude about that. When I write stories, I ask my friends to proofread them and not spare my feelings. If they were afraid to tell me where I'd fucked up, because it isn't 'nice', then my stories would SUCK because I'd never know what was wrong with them and I'd never know what to change to make them better!!
TELLING SOMEONE THE TRUTH IS NEVER AN INSULT. EVEN IF IT'S A TRUTH THEY MIGHT NOT WANT TO HEAR. 'Being nice' does not mean 'never telling anyone they're wrong'. The truest friends I have, I love them BECAUSE they disagree with me. I cherish the fact that, if I'm wrong about something, they will tell me right to my face. Because they know our relationship is strong enough that I won't fly into a rage at them. That is what trust means to me, and it feels incredible.
So it's a daydream, nothing more.

all im saying is watch out what you believe is right when your trying to preach to some one what is, I have said before the only time i think its right to confront some ones belief is when its going to be harmful to some one or them self, including emotionally
Ignorance is bliss <--- sums it up in a nut shell with my view on religion, i think its a farce but it works, most of the time anyways

>Because it gives people something to look forward to
No, it doesn't. If you're referring to Heaven, well, science hasn't found any evidence that anything happens to us after death except decomposition.
That's not to say that I have any problem with believing in an afterlife. I hope for one myself. The difference is, I don't see any reason it has to be run by a jealous, demanding God.
And I also don't *believe* that afterlife exists. I hope for one, but I accept that there's a high probability that this life is all we have. So that means if I want to experience pleasure and joy, I'd better experience it now while I'm sure I can. Making someone believe they have to abstain from Earthly pleasure in order to get a reward in Heaven is, to me, an obscene scam. It makes people waste their entire lives in pursuit of something that NO ONE can ever be sure exists. That's cruelty and it's fraud.
Imagine that some parents tell their kid all about Santa Claus, and tell him that if he's a really good boy, Santa will bring him lots of presents. Then Christmas morning comes and there's no presents. The little boy tearfully asks why, and the parents say it's because he wasn't good enough, and he can try next year. The parents deliberately did not buy him anything and are just lying to him to get him to behave the way they want. What do you think of that? Should we allow his happy anticipation of presents, knowing he'll be crushed when there are none and never will be? Or should we tell him the truth now to spare him that anguish?
>but before you take snaps at some one elses religion you should learn the past of your own
Um, I have no religion.

like i said before i am an atheist so i dont believe in god nor the after life, i want to have an after life but thats another matter
what i was trying to say was the fact if you did believe in god its a benefit since theres something to look forward too and there is a meaning to your life
does it matter if santa is real or not, when you believed in santa it was amazing when you waited for Christmas day to come
all im saying is belief is good when the belief has a benefit
and when i said about the religion i meant research other religions or at least the ones your trying to ridicule

>and when i said about the religion i meant research other religions or at least the ones your trying to ridicule
I have researched other religions. That's why I hate and fear them so much. Islam has horrific, dehumanizing violence against women. Buddhism and Hinduism create unthinkable poverty. Judaism results in the ritual genital mutilation of millions of defenseless infants. And Christianity gives us war, fraud, hatred, bigotry, molestation of children and the idea that ignorance is not only allowable, but a virtue.
There is not a single organized religion which is not responsible for more suffering than either of us could ever imagine.

Religious people hate and fear science because, deep inside, they know that one day we might actually be ABLE to disprove tenets of their faith.
...Oh wait, we already started in on that with geological evidence that the Earth is older than the biblical age for it, and that there was no worldwide flood as claimed, and that life on Earth didn't simply pop into existence in a few days. Maybe that's why they're feeling so aggressive, because their beliefs are actively threatened right now.

I think FA actually made a statement that was something like, "We support artistic freedom, but we don't want anyone to make disrespectful images!"
...which means you don't support artistic freedom!!!
What they really should have said was, "We're scared as fuck of controversy, so we're going to cave in to the demands of the perpetually-offended, because we're WEAK and free speech means jack shit to us."

everything about your idea to draw that picture was genius. Takeing down a picture of Mohamed is just as ridicules as takeing down a picture of Lucifur becouse it might piss off a Christian. nuff said.
P.S.
your use of the word "fuck" is highly offensive to me, as I choose to think im better then you with my choice of censured vocabulary. Now if you will excuse me im going to go stuff my penis in a blender because my god told me to.

Or hey, it might offend the Satanists!
BTW, they really ought to take down all this disgusting furry art, because it might offend 'normal' people.

If God told all religious people to put their genitals in a blender, this world would be infinitely better.

I think religion on a whole is fucking stupid. Fucking....CLown Shoes.
The world as we know it is more fucked up now than it has ever been. And Why? Because of Religion. Radical Islam promotes violence against nay-sayers and non-believers
CHristianity lumps gays and bisexuals in with the same group of sinners as murderers and rapists
Wicca, despite being a fertility cult (And only as old as, likely, 1952), tends to get lost somewhere in the mix of witchcraft and earthly 'magic', which Christianity, again, deems as sinful, as the only power that can possibly exist in Christianity is the power of God.
And it's always about a man..Moses, Joseph, Jesus, Judas...You rarely see or read anything in the bible that absolves women.
A woman caused the first sin, A woman cut off Samson's hair, a woman betrayed Jesus (Or something like that), a woman lay with her father when he was drunk.
Christianity depicts women as being inherantly evil and placed under man's control.
if you ask me, it's a load of bullshit.
Christianity is also responsible for the burning of many innocent people as witches during, oh, the last 2,000 years or more.
I also don't hone with the fact that Christianity is hypocritical of it's own words.
If Paganism is satanist, or sinful, then why did they assimilate rabbits and eggs, which are obviously Pagan in their spiritual message of fertility, into their faith?
And if The Egg and the rabbit are spiritual essences of life, then why do Pagan's eat eggs and rabbits?
Isn't it, I dunno, counterproductive to the whole fertility thing? I dunno... either way, it's fucking stupid.
I, myself, believe in man's capacity for good. You don't need some invisible man hanging over your head to do good things.
And most fundamentalist Christians that I have ever met have never followed the golden rule. "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you."
And what about that bit where you're supposed to feed and shelter those who are destitute?
I mean..The Homeless rate right here in Tulsa, Ok, which is the heart of the bible belt, is sky high..
THey can build churches and cathedral's with all that money that gets 'tithed'by the church, but they can't build more homes? They can't build half-way houses for people living on the streets? What the fuck is this shit?
Organized religion has never been more ~disorganized~ than it is today.
it must die, and we must kill it.
Oh, and don't even get me started on Scientology...We don't want to go there..or...do we?

>And it's always about a man..Moses, Joseph, Jesus, Judas...You rarely see or read anything in the bible that absolves women.
I read that, at the time of the Bible, there were a lot of matriarchal societies, and the Bible was written by a bunch of men to directly attack that and try to put the power back on the men's side. They intentionally tried to show women as devious and the root of all problems.
>Christianity is also responsible for the burning of many innocent people as witches during, oh, the last 2,000 years or more.
Actually, it's a myth they were burned. Most were drowned or pressed under heavy stones. Not much better.
>If Paganism is satanist, or sinful, then why did they assimilate rabbits and eggs, which are obviously Pagan in their spiritual message of fertility, into their faith?
Same reason they stole Christmas from them too. If the Pagans are too fond of a ritual or festival to give it up by force, then you get them to believe that they've been worshiping Jesus all the time. Christmas and Easter have absolutely nothing to do with Jesus. They're wholly Pagan holidays, they're all about the spring equinox and the winter solstice, and Christians just slapped a Jesus mask on them.
>Oh, and don't even get me started on Scientology...We don't want to go there..or...do we?
We don't really need to. Scientology is so blatantly full of shit that pointing it out just feels like making fun of a retarded kid.

So like, I can listen to this and totally imagine that The Amazing Atheist was doing it...possibly down to him drawing things on a dry erase board. I tend to like reading your lines of reasoning, but listening to it is even better. :)
And from your reasoning I can say I love the way you think!
And from your reasoning I can say I love the way you think!
Hee hee. I take that as a compliment, as I'm definitely a fan of his and I'm sure I've assimilared some of his delivery without realizing it. Heck, sometimes I'll intentionally try to add a TAA 'vibe' to a certain Montroversy.
>And from your reasoning I can say I love the way you think!
That makes me a happy foxie. :)

You know I saw an article recently that would probably have amused you and simultaneously made you facepalm.
It showed that people who refuse to change their stance on something even when presented with facts that prove them wrong when scanned light up the pleasure centers in the brain when they dig their heels in and deny that they can be wrong in a similar manner to how a regular person's brain might respond to eating a chocolate bar. They enjoy the process of denial and then feeling superior for doing it.
I propose such peoples brains be ground into hamburger meat to feed the homeless.

Oh... oh god... I wanna puke now.
If that's true, then it explains a lot. And it means there's little hope.
I like to believe that maybe I can reach people sometimes. I like to think, 'Hey, I changed. I used to be severely fucked-up in the head, to the point where it shamed and scared me. And I changed, just from seeing how awful my mother was and how much I didn't wanna become her.' I like to think that I'm not special; that anyone could do it. I want to believe this. But I don't. Especially not now after reading this.
It is alarmingly easy for our brains to become addicted to their own chemicals. We are creatures of habit and obsession. And just like with drugs, whatever emotions we get addicted to need to be stronger and stronger to produce the same 'fix'. So if people are actually getting pleasure from deluding themselves and arguing against reason, then each time they do it the pleasure will decrease a little, making them need more. So they'll become worse. Until they become like cable news pundits; willing to ignore any truth and speak any lie just so they can always be right. And these people are probably as addicted as any junkie.
And probably... there's no way to cure them other than with a bullet.
Christ...
I fucking hate this world. I want there to be a God just so I can slam him to the ground and choke him until his eyes bleed for giving us these worthless, broken brains of ours. Our brains are the cheapest, shoddiest merchandise in the world. You couldn't find worse in a dollar store. Anyone who says the human brain is a marvelous machine is an idiot and needs to be punched in the mouth. I... I cannot express how much I hate having my consciousness stuck in this misfiring sack of meat. And I weep for everyone else who isn't genetically predisposed to intelligence, curiosity and skepticism like I am. Because that's all it is. I'm only like this because I was born with the capacity to be this way, when most people aren't. And I pity them the same way I would if 90% of the world was blind, and I was able to see. And of course, if that were true, none of them would ever admit to being blind and they'd insist I was crazy for saying so. I want to hate stupid people so much, but I can't, because it's not their fault. It'd be like blaming a legless man for not being able to run. I don't WANT this. I don't want to be superior to other people unless it's through my own accomplishment, goddammit!!!
There's a story by Frederic Brown where a man wants to sell his soul to the devil for one wish. The devil agrees. The man wishes, "...without any change whatsoever in myself, I become the most evil, stupid and miserable person on earth."
I'd make that fucking wish if I could.

In fact, I subtley interviewed an islamist supporter and asked a few questions regarding their customs. Frankly, they all go against logic. Everything they do is an act to appease their God, inscribed in a book, which, undoubtedly like the Bible too, can just as easily been written by some jerk who wanted to screw around with peoples' minds for his own benefit.
Though I am a man of logic, I am also a spiritualist and occultist, revering more to the beliefs originating in the neolithic age, when many pagan beliefs and gods were believed to have originated, even millions of years before Christianity or other major religions existed. Not sure of Buddha's and Shintoism's part, though I deem that more logical as religions as well. Bottomline, many of these post-neolithic pagan religions don't care if you're a man, woman, gay, bi, black or any racial group or red haired (some religions depict that all red haired people are evil or devil worshippers; Judas for instance was believed to be red-haired, the one who supposedly betrayed Jesus). Hence I follow the wiccan teaching of "An' harm it none, do as ye will", the first half relating to actually refrain from causing literal harm to people.
I'm fine if someone's a believer, but using the belief's words to impose penalties to a person's freedom, especially to people who have absolutely no effect on said belief's worshippers and not causing them actual harm and who live thousands of miles away, that's just ludicrous.

Nice to hear someone just come right out and say that. And yeah, it's true. Most religious rituals are. "You must prove your belief by doing things which you know are foolish, or that make you suffer for no reason."
>Hence I follow the wiccan teaching of "An' harm it none, do as ye will", the first half relating to actually refrain from causing literal harm to people.
I'm not a wiccan, but I'm totally down with that, and have been for a while. IMHO, it's the single best religious belief ever.

"Sorry you were raped, but you can't get an abortion! Because that might make me cry!" DERP.

>Hence I follow the wiccan teaching of "An' harm it none, do as ye will", the first half relating to actually refrain from causing literal harm to people.
I'm not a wiccan, but I'm totally down with that, and have been for a while. IMHO, it's the single best religious belief ever.
>I'm fine if someone's a believer, but using the belief's words to impose penalties to a person's freedom, especially to people who have absolutely no effect on said belief's worshippers and not causing them actual harm and who live thousands of miles away, that's just ludicrous.

I read this little tidbit while looking aorund FA, and while it is VERY old, I do think there is something that (to my knwoledge) has not been pointed out yet.
If you go back into Judaism, and specifically the purity laws that were laid out AFTER the ten commandments were given out, you will notice that many of them mesh with many of the basic laws of Islam. For example Gay sex between men and eating pork. These two are perhaps the most Iconic, and even in the time of Moses they were forbidden. But why? Why are they not ok, and why, if they are so bad, did God not put them in with the things like No Murder and Don't be an ass to your parents?
Well the answer to that is simple, sin. Now I am not talking about sin in the modern abstract sense. Sin as a concept had nothing to do with a place named after the daughter of loki and a 'bad guy for God' literary device made into a central icon of the Romanized Christian faith. Sin was anything that would get you killed, or more specifically things that would get you killed without an explination. Now the actual knowledge of microbiotics during the Jewish Exodus was a bit underwealming. It is hard to do study into microbes when you are running around though a desert trying to avoid roaving nomadic raiders while going from fresh water supply to fresh water supply. So when someone ate a peice of pork (Which even 50 years ago needed to be cooked to hell in order to avoid the potential infection by devistating or deadly pathogens) or had unprotected butt sex (keep in mind, your left hand was toilet paper at the time) and then randomly dropped dead the only explination people could come up with is that "God Is Pissed!"
This is where the Purity laws differ from the commandments, and where many of our modern day misconceptions and taboos come from. Every holy text has things that form the core of their beleif system, high-philosophies that are supposed to dictate a better way to run our lives. The Jewish commandments for an example promoted a lifestyle of simple worship without many of the bells and whistles other cultures had, respect for ones self and plus respect and love for those around you. Elaborations upon these teachings and the way of life they are to promote are in fact one the sole theme of Jesus' teachings, transcending both the accepted and gnsotic gospils.
Now I am no true expert on Islamic history. But I do know for a fact that things such as Shiara law were indeed cultural rather than spiritual in nature, derived from the philosophies and observations of men speculating on the will of God rather than sticking to the word itself. Much of what tends to put people off of religions (abrahamic religions espeically) is that until recenlty it was difficult for anyone to really undertsand these clear distinctions, or perhaps there are simply cycles where such distincitions become harder to define. For many centuires after the fall of rome the Islamic nations of the world kept hold of the sciences and philosophies the Romans had destoryed or corrupted, and advanced on them with an almost startling zeal. They were men of science, philosphy and mathematics who did not feel God and Knowledge were at odds but rather that they were intertwined. Later shifts towards a more tradition-based religious culture as opposed to a progressive one happened long after Mohammed and are in fact not part of his inspired teachings.
To get back on the point, people take offense to these things because they are not following a religion for its teachings. The structuring and 'easy answers' that oppertunists within a church, mosque or temple attempt to provide allow people are long established psychological leashes designed by oppertunists to keep people in check using faith as a tool. The logical reason for not eating pork or having gay sex may have at one point been because observable evidence suggested "they drop dead, there is no apparent cause, we know people who do X drop dead. Thus X must piss god off". Then over the years people take these teachings as rote because that is what they are told, and it is easy to follow.
In the end these problems all boil down to one thing, Ignorance. If you asked any of these people who get offended at images of Mohammed, really forced them to think about WHY it is not allright, then you would find that they have no rational answer, just as Christians could not give you any rational answer besides one conceptual meme started by old men with no scientific training walking around in the desert. Even if you made a slight assumption and, say, suggested that the morratorium on images was a way to avoid idoletry for the man by telling people he was not worthy of praise, that he was simply a mouthpeice for God rather than a Scion or aspect of God people would probably still get offended. Now I don't think that is any reason to actually DRAW Mohammed, after all you will never get people to learn with a provocative act. But the truth seems to be that the problems with people of any religion (or at least any abrehamic religion) tend to stem from nothing more than willful ignorance of the Spirit of the law, and indeed of their own respective faiths.
Now as a kind of cap-stone to this argument, I would like to offer THIS http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4jG0D2nRGrQ
The commentators on top gear being, well, themselves while driving though Alabama and nearly getting killed for it. I dare anyone here, ANYONE, to find one passage of Jesus teacing that can be used to support this in-context. And yet I also dare you to find even one person who claims to be Athesit, Agnostic, or of any other religion from among the men involved. The problem with these religions are not the religions themselves, but the people, and the ignorance that they insist on cultivating at any cost.
