A beautifully serene piece by
Dexil03.
I contacted Dexil because I very much enjoyed several of his pieces. I wasn't quite sure what I was looking for in a commission, but through a bit of conversation, we came upon some inspiration and direction. Dexil drew up several potential poses, and this one caught my eye. I saw myself laying there comfortably, serene, careless, and free. Because I so enjoy symbolism and analogy, I very quickly considered the possibilities. I thought that I could be laying in a field, and what better to comprise that field than carrot flowers. I picked those in particular as a reference to one of my favorite songs, The King of Carrot Flowers Part 1 by Neutral Milk Hotel.
I thought briefly about the color of the "background", and that maybe it could be blue, but I really appreciate the abstractness introduced by the brownish-grey color. Is it stormy? A wall? Night time? I thought it was a little more provocative than a vibrant blue.
Thank you so much, Dexil!
