My dabbling into the surreal realm of art with Mr. Psy-eye here. I've been working on this sucker for months now and, at last after many incarnations, have decided to unleash it upon an unsuspecting and innocent world.
This is a photo of the actual piece before I mat and frame it. I had to do some photo manipulation to get it to look this good because my camera is just crap. The actual piece is quite glossy and shiny...look deeply into its eye and you can see for yourself. ;}
This is my largest piece to date:
Acrylics and ink on 12x16 on heavy Canson Acrylic paper
I had much fun working with textures on this one. :)
Submitted to scraps here because it doesn't fit a furry theme.

For me it's always a matter of just.. go with the flow, let the brush take me wherever it takes me, and then when I think it's 'done' look at it and maybe offset a few things with splashes of contrasting or complimenting colors. i've not done an abstract in a loooong long time now though, I really should do some more, those are kind of fun.
Yes you need to do more art! It's very good for the soul.
I'm much too much of a planner to just "go with the flow", I've gotta worry about everything. When I get a little better perhaps I can be more free? I wasted 4 canvas papers and a lot of acrylic paint getting to this point because my experimentation sucked! __and supplies aren't cheap. I need that Govn't Art Grant about now. ;D

LOL! Yeah, there is that.. Though I , for my experimental experiments,just use cartridge paper and water colors, which aren't horribly expensive. i mean, the CHEAP water colors.. like.. Crayola brand.. yanno? :) and yeah, I'll produce art again some day. Right now dealing with work not making payroll again! Time to start sending out the resumes again and see what happens.
