recently I got a commission of my new werewolf paladin, and I felt inspired to write her a little short story. this is my first attempt at writing a combat based story, so I hope you all like it!

Story is continued below:
The earth shook as the black scaled monstrosity approached the city of Ravensperch with lumbering steps, hunched forwards on its two brutish legs with spines running along its back. Claws at the tip of the beast's muscular arms raked through the mud leaving viscous scratches in the ground. it raised its scaly jaw to the moonlit sky and let loose a blood-curdling roar. The horrified screams of innocent civilians followed in chorus, mobs formed as people scrambled over one another to get as far away from the beast as they could. The priests did all they could to protect the fleeing townsfolk, giving them shelter within the blessed grounds of the church, praying that the God-Wolf Fenrir would protect them. Some folk held onto hope that they may be spared, while others knew that nothing short of a miracle would save them.
The walls of Ravensperch could hold off an army and served to keep most of the night's creatures at bay, but the city was never faced with a threat so massive in scale. The beast's head rose above the trees, above the roofs of the houses, and dwarfed even the tallest steeple adorning the church.
Those whose gazes were locked onto the beast, whose bodies were paralyzed in the fear that pervaded the very air, were the first to hear the second set of steps thundering through the night.
First came the glint of light on metal, then the shadow which blocked out the moon, and the next thing the townsfolk saw was a titanic woman standing before the beast. Her head reaching up to the beast's own with the two god-like beings stood off. The wind rustled through her charcoal black hair and the sandy mane that made up the collar of her leather gambeson, the moonlight reflected off the sides of her armour's steel plating. The woman's wolven tail wagged excitedly, she lifted her storm grey muzzle skywards and she howled out her own thundering warcry.
Charging into the fray, the Wolfess struck out at the scaly behemoth, the impact was loud enough to be heard across the whole city, shattering glass all around the battlefield. The civilians who weren’t consumed in awe began to cheer for their saviour, the one who would save them all from the monster.
Yet the beast would not go without a fight, raising his claws he slashed down on the Wolfess who just barely managed to block the strike with her heavy plated gauntlets. While the claws failed to bypass the metal, the force threw her back through the city walls, brick and mortar crumbling beneath her weight as she stumbled back from the force. Seizing the advantage, the beast pressed on, unleashing a flurry of slashes and offering the Wolfess no chance to regain her footing. Wind from the beast's furious swipes stripping the shingles from the nearby buildings, As the Titaness finally faltered the beast slammed down and knocked her to the ground. Even as the beast stood over the wolf ready to deal what would be a finishing blow she could feel the crunching of the buildings underneath her all the residents had fled long before her arrival, and all that was found in this region was wood and stone ready to be torn asunder between the giants. Grabbing onto a building she pulled, the wood groaned and creaked until it began to splinter and with a great tear she ripped a house from its foundation and shattered the building upon the beast's head, rubble raining down over her and the surrounding buildings. As it recoiled she swiftly kicked up at the monsters throat and sent it staggering back. Countering the beast's assault she began to strike in turn, blow after blow from her steel-plated gauntlets rang out off the beast's scales, and slowly she regained the ground she had previously lost.
A low rumble built up from the beast as he fought back, and an ominous purple glow emanated from inside the creature's throat. Uncertain of what it was, the Wolfess refused to relent, hammering the beast with unending strikes. Keeping herself between the beast and the helpless civilians she stood her ground.
All went well until the beast let out a deep bellow and a pure beam of dark energy erupted forth, the Wolfess wanted to dodge the attack but realized that the church behind her and the civilians within would perish without question, so she raised her gauntlets and endured the attack, digging her claws into the cobblestones below. The beam was frigid, chilling her to the bones and even her armour began to develop a coating of frost as the dark energy slammed into her. The buildings around her rapidly began to wear away as the bricks were ground to powder from the wind and frigid energy rushing past. The wolves claws tore meter deep gashes in the cobbles as the beam had enough force to push her back. Finally, she couldn't hold her ground anymore as her claws were ripped out of the ground and she was thrown off her feet crashing through building after building like paper mache. The beast ceased the beam and began to approach the wounded titan, too exhausted to even rise to her feet again as she lay against a massive building.
A steady rhythm of thundering footsteps filled her head, with her ears still ringing from the blast. As she opened her eyes everything was spinning, and the beast was too blurry to make out more than a vague silhouette. Yet just barely over the ringing in her ears and the booming of the beast's steps a shrill noise filled her ears. Not unlike the buzzing of a fly. dismissing the noise she closed her eyes once again, but the noise grew louder still. Opening her eyes and looking around she saw figures in the windows of the building she leaned against. Looking in she saw the faces of dozens if not hundreds of humans shouting out at her. Raising her ears she could hear their words clearly, it was the cheers of the townsfolk in the church begging her to defeat the monster and save the town. Her heart raced and excitement flooded back into her, any trepidation she had was quickly washed away in their cries. Warmth spread through her, melting the frost over her body as she felt her fighting spirit return despite her wounds.
Rising to her feet once more the Wolfess raised her arms into a fighting stance as she thought to herself “I may not be this God-Wolf you speak of…” golden light radiated from her eyes as similarly coloured flames erupted from her hands “but I am Bryna the bold, and I am the one who will save this town”
