Well... It is not how i planned an introduction of a new character but in case of lack of any reference sheet i decided to acquaint everyone with second brother among the Firstborns. He is second in powers after Yin and he wears very bright but at the same time grim title.
Please welcome - Neargle, the Lord of Life and Death, the Prince of Birth and Decay. He is the reason why life exists from the simple virus and bacteria to the complex and very intersting beings like we are, humans. He is a mastermind of bioengineering and can bring life or death. He is both one of the most praised and hated among the mortals. With his every step even the most dead soil will become a blooming heavenly garden and his touch can steal the life from every mortal easily. His deeds created all species in all universes and his deceases, ills and viruses are the results of his nightmares and his wrath.
Also he is probably the warmest and the most close to the mortals in terms of his way of thinking and understanding the emotions, simple concepts of normal life and true meaning of life itself. His advices and influence on Yin brought the seed of fire and passion, the spark of humanity in his brother's soul and made him much pleasant person than he was before he met him and only started to speak with him. But after he had shown the miracle of life, the birth and life's beginning his brother was truly impressed and even said that without him his work would be meaningless and he breathes life into worlds he created.
That's not all about him but enough for the moment. I plan to do a reference sheet for him just to represent his full design and show how different and unique he is compared to Yin. He is a hybrid of dragon, wolf and deer with the wings of a bat which i find quite cool and very fitting to his role and status.
And this amazing beyond any words of praise work was made by one and only
Efaru
She did magnificent job creating the image of this being in the most fashionable, beautiful and great way possible without any compromises. He looks like i always dreamed about him and her skills definitely hilight his beauty and unusual apperance.

Fair warming: do not use or copy the design or art for your use without my or artists permission. Seriously this is scummy. He means for me as much as the art means for artist. Also i would be upset if i would see him being used in something that i don't like. Do not be like that. Be better and love your closest ones. Peace!

I'm really fond of your new boy. While Yin definitely is handsome, Neargle looks beautiful in his own way (and I love how you included "fluff" in the tags lmao). The garden mentionned in the story corresponds to the Palace of Infinity we see in your commission from Ingvas, right ?
When reading the description I was thinking about something. Recently I've been reading a book on God and the problem of Evil. One of the key arguments for classic Christian theology (following the likes of Augustine) on the problem of evil is that God didn't create evil. Everything created by Him is good. However everything that isn't divine is subject to corruption, and thus evil is presented as the absence of good. Hence for instance a virus is a good thing by itself, but the damage it causes (the corruption) is bad. It's a bit of a mental gymnastic nonetheless to defend that God isn't nonetheless responsible for evil, but I would like to know how you and Neargle would think about that ? Why creating viruses, diseases and so on when they lead to badness ? I definitely understand the anger of mortals towards him for that, to a certain extent.
Also now I guess I'm losing my title of dude on FA who quotes the most songs in his uploads :p Anyway this portrait is really beautiful and does justice to a demiurge !

Thanks for your answer, but it actually raised further questions for me haha
- The first naive is: why forcing evolution rather than direct creation ? Is it because it is impossible for Neargle from the beginning ? (ie the situation of a god with limited powers who cannot do whatever would please him)
- The second one about the resentment mortals have towards him, the shame he feels and the morality of his choices. Isn't a law of survival of the fittest immoral ? Because when you say that nature isn't "good" or "bad" it's all a matter of definition and of point-of-view. For a human being, a natural disaster killing hundreds of people will be "bad", and thus I take this definition of evil w.r.t. humans' experience. Since Neargle created those natural evils (or at least permits them), he accepts that millions or even billions of people will die because of his creation. Is the rest of the beauty he created truly enough to deem the world good and forgive what he caused ? For instance when a mother loses her newborn because some kind of disease, isn't her anger towards the god who created it justified ? Because I definitely understand the shame the demiurge feels, as it is legitimate on many fronts.
More generally I really have a problem with arguments defending God and the evils permitted just because of some "greater good" (which is never actually defined in religious literature). And even if greater good is defined as a happy and healthy life of the majority of living beings (for instance), wouldn't the horrendous suffering of even a minority be unacceptable for a good divinity ?
- Final question that could partially answer my previous one: does Afterlife exist in your universe ? Because it is often used as a solution to the problem of suffering (especially for Christian theology). But without that it could lead to an even more cruel god...

Didn't know it was a song ! Had a hard time reading it with the font to be honest, but it's nice to learn something new ! (And it's really pretty)
Sounds like a really beautiful and interesting character, the lord of life and death... i always enjoyed these kinds of ambivalent gods, and this one sounds like humanity incarnated, in that way. So i guess it makes sens why he's the most close in thoughts to "living" creatures :)
