Deneb, a Jeroban criminal who's called the slums home ever since he was born. I thought it would be fitting to add him to this scene, similar to what I did with the Dupachyan Cave Scene a couple months back.
Being a fugitive with a rap sheet longer than his Jeroban tail, Deneb doesn't stay in one place very long. Between stays in prison, onboard prison ships or exiled to a penal colony on a frontier world, Deneb crashes in whatever cheap apartment, dirty hotel room, or abandoned building he can find in the slums until the heat on him is too much and he needs to move on once again.
Deneb is actually the origin of the Jeroban as a species in-universe--a design I adopted from a friend going on 8 years ago at this point, he started off as a bizarre mutant criminal/experiment thing and I just totally ran with the concept. I drew him several times with no idea what he was, until another friend mentioned he looked like a mutant jerboa, which was an animal I had never heard of until that point, and upon looking them up... I could definitely see it!
Later on, I adopted a similar-looking design from the same artist, which went on to become Rigel, an even more dangerous and violent criminal, and sorta set the precedent for the Jeroban to be a dangerous, violent and criminal race... but aside from Markeb, every other Jeroban I've drawn has either been an infant, a farmer, a homesteader, a spacer, or in the case of Bellatrix, a young fighter caught up in the criminal underworld unintentionally as part of her story arc.

With several billion Jeroban across several planets, it's safe to say that the criminal element of their culture is just overexposed because I find these criminal characters interesting to play with from time to time--I could probably make some frontier settlers that are just as interesting, or do something with the misadventures of some freighter crewman, or design some Cygnian Federation soldiers (who would probably wind up having to deal with Deneb and his "friends" anyways), but I've just never really gotten around to developing any such characters yet beyond some one-off character art of farmers, frontiersmen, and spacers that I could probably develop further sometime.
