I'm very close to just shutting down any commissions. about 6 different people kept ignoring the several notes to not. add. a. note. AND then get angry at me after words! this is not just one person doing this and it's so frustrating!!! I have it stated in 2 different places, in bold, and colored for attention, I don't know how to be more clear.
paypal is my main source of income as well as smuppetfan69 , it's what keeps a roof over our heads and food on the table.
if my paypal gets shut down because of a something less than 50 bucks.... I don't know what I'd do. I wouldn't have a home or food.
if you don't want to be empathetic over me being TERRIFIED about loosing food and rent money???? then please leave... I don't want to associate with anyone like that.

at first I thought the word "comment" was confusing so used "note" like oaypal does... then I thought that the message wasn't clear enough so I bolded and made the words colored... I even made sure to edit the wording 5 hours ago to say "no note IN payment" but that's apparently still confusing???
im tired, stressed, and fearful over something that's $5 - $15 I don't need this.
but on a side note I love the little kabash that smup drew for this. I'm not at home right now and it made me smile through the tears.

Sorry people are being rude. You said not to leave one so I didn't. Most artists are okay with notes being left (I usually just put my username on FA there so they knew who the money came from, nothing else) but it should be respected, 100% full stop, if someone says not to leave a paypal note.
You are allowed to deny comms. That is your right as an artist!
If I may, maybe make it more specific in the future? Like instead of just 'note', say 'paypal note' to specify you mean the paypal thing, not FA's notes/comments. Just a random thought I had while thinking about this. Maybe it'll help? If people still don't get it after that....then they just outright ain't reading and that's rude of them.

I can't say I've heard of any horror stories, but that's not to say there aren't any. Paypal is well known to be dicks about a lot of things so even if there weren't any stories, I'd still not put it past them. But yeah, feel free to try what I said and hopefully it cuts back. If people don't follow the rules, then no comm for them.
On invoices, the buyer can leave a message too. And I have this problem something since it can not be removed =.= I mean, it's not a huge problem since 90% of my peoples understand that they only need to send the payment and contact me via notes here to confirm their payment. Sadly since paypal is a transaction device, I think they keep the message/note thing, to assure the communication between buyer/seller to avoir problem. (Also, sorry for my english, it's not my main language.)
Out of curiosity, how does someone leaving a paypal note hurt you? Is it like, inappropriate text gets you in trouble despite the fact you didn't do anything wrong? I've never used the note the few times I've paypal'd people anyways, but I've also never heard any complaints about it until now.
paypal flags certian words and can shut down the account. I have no idea what the words are but I know stuff like YCH, furaffinity, base, 100% flag things in paypal because accounts have been shut down because of them.
I know other text like illegal things (terrorist mentions or talking about guns or having sex with animals and other very illegal things) also do that but anyone saying those things is just purposefully trying to get your account shut down.
