At some point you remember saying to yourself, spurred along by your nature, "I should be a dog," and so you did exactly that.
But with recollection came no great desire to return to what you once were--at least for now. You remembered your nature, your biology--your lack thereof. Most of all, you remembered what you wanted to be: a dog. So you did exactly that, mimicking their visage in painstaking detail.
