ya, i enjoy the "gathering hope just to have it ripped away last moment" trope too :P, the story was written around a small commission i got, and so i used that trope in a different way. even if he would somehow manage to get away, (though im pretty sure he is bird food at this point :P) He would have to try and make it back to his phone, which might not even be there, having been picked up by some kid or bum. if So then he would have to try and make it the week.
