A part of chapter 13.1 "Point of no return”
Somewhere.
Amy opened her eyes. And couldn’t believe them.
They were standing on a vast meadow. It was covered with all kinds of wildflowers.
“Ah, that’s so beautiful...” she whispered.
“Yes. I’ve found it for you.” Shadow replied “Some guys bring flowers to the girls. I bring girls to the flowers.”
Amy giggled.
“Hey, let’s run about. I’ll show you this place.”
Amy nodded with a smile and stretched her hand to him.
They joined hands and slided over the ground with an incredible speed.
Amy laughed hearty. Shadow just smiled.
The hills covered with flowers passed by. The black and crimson hedgehog though wasn’t paying any attention to them. His eyes were focused on the person who ran with him.
Then suddenly he twisted his ankles.
They were twirled at an incredible speed. Shadow caught her by her waist and they fell to the grass.
“Why did you do that?” asked Amy lying on top of him.
He rolled over, so now she was lying on the grass.
He leaned down to her and kissed.
“Any more questions?” he said.
Amy looked at his face and then asked “Do they pain?”
“What?”
“Those scratches. Do they pain? ”
“Ah, don’t mind this. It’s nothing, really.”
Amy took off her right glove and touched his cheek with her hand. Shadow jerked to the side.
“Was it painful?” she asked.
“No. Just unusual.”
Amy took off her left glove.
“There is no iodine or something here...” she smiled “So I have no other choice.”
The pink hedgehog took his muzzle in her hands and licked one of the scratches down.
When she moved away Shadow looked at her quizzically.
“What were you doing?” he asked.
“Cleaning the scratch, so it won’t get inflamed later.”
“Amy, it won’t.”
“Why?”
“I’m the ultimate life form. They’ll disappear in an hour.”
“Uhm... I didn’t know.” shyly drawled she.
“But you can keep doing that.” he smirked “I like the feeling.”
Shadow turned his cheek to her.
“Come on. Do it.” he asked.
Amy hesitated a little and then started licking again. Shadow closed his eyes enjoying the moment.
The girls’ gentle fingers with well-groomed feminine claws ran through the quills on his head. She pulled him closer.
She started caressing the fur behind his ears. Then Amy went to scratching.
Shadow shivered a little. His tail was keeping time with her scratching movements.
Amy opened her eyes and asked
“Are you ok?”
“Keep doing that” hissed Shadow through set teeth “It’s getting me high... If you only knew...”
Then he smirked, opened his eyes and interestedly looked down at her “Actually, you might find out...”
Shadow pulled off his gloves. And his clawed fingers rather roughly started moving behind her ears. Amy whined a little “Easier...” she begged.
“Ah, ok.” he tried to be more gentle.
Amy closed her eyes dreamily and continued to scratch behind his ears.
They joined foreheads.
Slowly Shadow realized that happiness could be so oddly simple. Just scratching behind your loved one’s ears while she's scratching behind yours.
They slowly fell into some kind of bitter sweet trance.
His mind was slightly clouded by some new desires that didn’t involve world domination or salvation. Shadow stopped scratching.
He opened his eyes. She opened her eyes after him.
They looked in the eyes of one another for about a minute. Then Shadow asked
“Amy, I want...” but then he stopped shortly and looked to the side “No, I can’t tell you this.”
“Oh come on, Shadow” she slightly pushed him in his chest “You can tell me anything.”
“Ok.” he smirked, leaned over to her ear and whispered “I want to bite your tail.”
“Ah... What?” asked Amy not quite expecting this kind of desire.
“I always wanted to do that.” he bit the corner of his lower lip.
“But... Shadow, that’s a very intimate gesture... I...”
“And we’re not just friends, are we?” he interrupted her.
“I guess not.”
He leaned to her ear again and whispered
“Amy, just turn your back on me. I’ll do the rest.”
“Uhm, are you sure you want this?” shyly asked the blushing girl
“More than anything” heatedly answered he.
Amy sighed.
“Ok” and did as she was told to.
She shivered when his sharp fangs closed down on the tip of her tail.
Amy gasped as he moved further. Then her eyes opened widely and she exclaimed
“Shadow, that’s not my... tail... any... more! Hey!”
She quickly turned around under him, so Shadow’s muzzle ended up on her belt.
He gave her a resentful look, but then he chinned up, smiled wildly and pulled her top up.
Amy giggled nervously as he trailed down quick kisses on her stomach.
But when he reached her belt again and unmistakably was determined to move lower, Amy grabbed his ears and pulled him up forcefully. He buried his nose in her breast.
Amy blushed brightly and pushed him back.
“Amy...” he said in deep voice leaning down to her again.
“Don’t even think about this!” she growled and set her knee against his stomach.
“Oh, Amy...” Shadow murmured, took her leg under her knee and moved it to the side.
Amy gasped when he pressed her leg to his hip and swiftly and abruptly lowered himself to her.
The pink girl blushed even more and feebly asked
“Is that your gun, Shadow?”
He grinned and answered looking her in the eyes “Against you, Rose, I’m defenseless.”
Then he leaned over to her ear and whispered lightly touching the tip of her ear with his lips “Maybe now we should go further than kisses?”
He bit her ear slightly and added “I’ll be tender.”
Every cell of Amy’s body screamed “yes”, but her mind still kept answering “no”.
She pushed him back and pressed her forehead to his chest.
“Shadow, I’m not ready for this. I... Please, take me home.”
The dark hedgehog sighed.
“But you...”
“Please, Shadow.”
“As you wish.”
He stood up and gave her a hand. She grasped it and got on her feet too.
“Chaos Control” he said.
And they transferred to Amy’s house.
“Thank you.”
“Don’t mention this.” he replied coldly.
“Erm, are you alright?”
“Yes. Don’t worry.”
“When will I see you again?”
“I’ll call you. But now I have to think. Chaos Control.”
And he vanished.

Westopolis, Shadow’s flat.
“Way to go, ultimate lifeform... Damn! Damn!”
Shadow stood in the living room. Broken furniture lay about here and there.
“I want to bite your tail... Damn!!! Could have thought of something smarter than that!”
Then a wide grin appeared on his face “But I bit her tail for all that.”
