- From a never released addition of ‘The Adventures of Peter Rabbit’ -

Peter Rabbit’s latest adventure was off to a late start when he slipped his blue denim jacket over his shoulders and attempted to button his favourite jacket. Normally it would button with ease, but he soon realized that it fit much tighter than normal!

Not one to back down from a challenge, the young hare wriggled about and after much tugging, pulling, and sucking in his belly (one that he didn’t dare admit he had) he managed to secure the buttons. Although they puckered and strained against his soft middle, struggling against their threads, threatening to burst at the slightest breath.

Feeling rather triumphant, Peter grinned and sigh with relief before reaching to grab his satchel before bounding out the door. However, his bunny ears soon heard the distinct sound of snapping threads and the soft ‘poft’ of the bottom two buttons bursting off. The hare secretly felt relief as the two halves of his jacket became separated by his pudgy bunny belly!

“Perhaps I’ve been spending too much time with Benjamin on those garden raides.” Peter pondered as he stared at the spent buttons on the floor between his paws, wondering if cousin Benjamin might have a larger jacket he could borrow.
