Sheriff of Hyrule Gulch (alt)
Link was just a postal carrier who was arriving in Hyrule with the mail when the miners struck something other than gold. While the citizens fled for safety, Link rode into the battle and began to do his best to dispatch the beasts fleeing the mine. Due to this heroic bravery, Link was deputized and put in charge of the town. He's armed with the Master Rifle which he primarily prefers to use as a polearm due to the fact some of the creatures in the mines don't react to normal bullets from his rifle. Additionally, the blacksmith's daughter, Zelda, is in charge of producing Bullets of Light for him, and those take a lot of work to correctly forge each round.
