That's curious. I was thinking about the transformations and the laws of physics behind them a few days ago. Maybe the omnitrix works like Miracleman's transformation and it just replaces your body with another one, with the rest of the bodies "stored" inside another dimension accessed via the omnitrix. That might explain why it takes its time between transformations, since it has to heal any wounds the last body took while in the material world. The user's human body might be stored in that dimension as well while in "alien" mode, so that might explain why they're not as tired as one might think when they turn back into their normal form, since they are also "healed" in the other dimension.
I haven't watched all Ben10 episodes yet, so I don't know if that was explained before, but that's my theory.

That's a decent theory. Do you recall what happened to Ghostfreak in the original series?
I really wish they went into more detail on how it worked. But I guess them not explaining it made things easier to believe.
But still, the whole thing is incredibly interesting, especially with the fact there's over 4 MILLION aliens in the Omnitrix. How the (ghost)freak does it contain THAT MUCH data and DNA? It must be ... I dunno, like it can even gather more DNA like it did with "Benwolf" and the Frankenstein monster. (which was cool)
I don't think I watched all the episodes myself to be honest.
