I read up on it last night, seems to be a hotly discussed topic. Personally I don't see how you can claim a species, especially when it first came around and some tried copyrighting and it failed. It isnt any diff than people making their own characters based on say Saiyans, any alien from media like Star Wars, Mass Effect, Star Trek, ect. Glad something like this isn't actually enforced if you wanna create said species.
That being said, not here to debate with anyone. Just find it silly is all.

If you want sum more info about them you should go to check the species owner or talk to them. Bout it :p
i know its not something you atm can copyright but i as an artist will honor and respect the time and effort other creator has put to create something unique and built a community around it.
