I never understood the appeal of this character.

Well, there is the contrast between XJ-9 the superhero robot and Jenny Wakeman the high school teenager. The show is mildly funny, but could have been better if it had been edgier. The continued popularity of XJ-9 is, IMHO, due to those people who have an Android or robot fetish. I enjoy the take offs other people do more than the original show. If some one asked me to make a list of my top five cartoon ‘babes’, she wouldn’t be on it. Top ten, maybe.
