Another digitally painted headshot for
Seranata_the_Shenlok , this time featuring their phoenix character, Llygedyn! (Not gonna lie, no idea how that's pronounced, looks like it could be Irish or Welsh or something? Oh those Celts and their ideas about how letters work*.)
Fire is one of those weird things that is harder to draw when you try. Like, it comes out better and is much more fun when you just scribble and use the smudge brush with impunity, and then fart some glow layers on there for good measure.
*I'm of German-Irish descent and fascinated by ancient European cultures, I say this out of LOVE. Confused love that has to Google how to pronounce things.

It's Welsh, yepyep!
Admittedly I've never been to Wales - my father's got a bit of ancestry from there, though. When I was a kid he had this fantasy book from there that I was just fascinated with that I wish I could remember the name of ;-; that's where I picked up the word from - the meaning is something along the lines of "a glance of light", from what I've gathered! I love the pronunciation and I practiced it for my D&D game~

I ran it through Google Translate to see how to pronounce it (Luh-GAY-dun, as far as I can tell lol) and it said it meant "glimmer, ray, or gleam" so I think you're probably right. It's a lovely name for a phoenix.
I named my first shiny Pokemon Ialach (Ya-lah), which means "Clear, bright" or "Shining Fur" depending on if you go with the Welsh or Scottish translation.
