My roommate messaged me after I had begun working on my next set of photos and told me to grab my camera. He had discovered what he describes as a cool bug. I came out with my camera and saw the thing and realized, this would be an excellent moment to try macro photography with my extension tubes for the first time. I had bought a set of them last year and had never put them to use.... suddenly as I began working out how to get the photo setting up my little cube lights out to illuminate the beetle I was problem solving. Of course I had to dress up the scene, bring it in the house for a few moments and enjoy a few minutes of photography late in the evening. Enjoy my little encounter with the Grapevine Beetle, also known as the June Beetle! Thanks to Freddy_Lightpaw for point out my earlier mistake of calling it a June Bug!
