My interpretation of the Shishigumi!
I understand that the studio may be working with constraints we're not aware of--(part of why I think Agata was given the regular lion palette is just to keep him from standing out too much among the other lions, compared to main characters like Louis, Legoshi, etc. Plus, that's just a theory based on my limited knowledge of animation/story-telling, what have you)--still wish he retained his dark fur, though!
I'd touch up individual designs in the future, but I think for roughs, it's an okay start. Had a lot of fun with it! ^^ And did them all at like, 3 in the morning one night. Lol.

Well, we do see that at least one of them has a sympathetic side to him. There is that scene when buddy gives Louis some salad, and later on insists his higher-up kill him if he sees him try to do anything bad to him. I like how not all the bad guys are your standard cookie cutter black-and white "evildoers" fare, each and every character has some depth to them, making them all feel "real" in some way. It makes the world feel alive.
Agata looks so young in his portrait. Too young to be a mafia member. I hope he grows up to become a kinder and wiser soul, and learns to leave Shishigumi when he is ready.
It's always sad when young characters are placed in unfortunate situations, isn't it? They always have so much potential to become better people, but their roads in life lead them down a dark alley. It really tugs the heartstrings.
