Well, if you call them ballerinas you're automatically insulting them, the a means that it's a woman (or women) you're talking about! Ballerini is for men and Ballerine is for women when talking plural. My best friend is a classical ballet dancer, so I'm very sensitive about these things!
I know what you mean, their bodies are so much more felxible and every muscle of theirs is defined, us fighter types just have the more essential muscles working for us.

Oh, for the singular it's a ballerino, but I guess that he fancies himself a girl then! (kidding, but if you were to go to a professional male dancer and call him a ballerina he'd probably sock you)

Very true. I used to do ballet and horse riding for a while, but too expensive to do for a long time.
