I have to admire these spruce trees' sheer determination to remain in place.
This is a common sight On The Beach where the wind and the sea are eroding the very earth from beneath the scrubby little Black Spruce that are foolish and defiantly brave enough to battle the Mighty North Anlantic. These stubborn trees will never win, and they just don't care.
