Well, it's been known that well-developed characters will haunt you if you cut their story short or leave it unfinished. Maybe tackle her closure in the edit for publication?

A sequel would be awesome! Maybe after some years, Rose realizes she is getting too old to life in the wild, but nowhere near old enough to just die of old age, so she decides to life with Rick, or maybe in Nancys wildlife center...

So I have to agree: Sequels are good :)
