Bonus posts tonight and tomorrow for wrapping up J-Inkies ("june inks"....i'm gonna hafta bribe someone next year to posts inkings in June, other wise i'll look more even lamer than usual).
- Back to '79 (sort of the theme year for this bunch of posts)
So, - in contrast to previous post feeling young wild oats and freedom wiff inking styles - this is approaching breaking a lot of rules - and yet is influenced by Winslow Homer, Andrew Wyeth, and Jeffrey C. Jones paintings - and Moebius/GIR's inking - where the representational and abstract are pushed to their breaking and begin to merge.
The implied story of this always intrigued me - someone walking through a desert with no hint of shade or water anywhere - the high stratosphere clouds a surreal mockery of water that will never come to this wasteland.
yeah, and i guess i have to do a colour versions of this just as soon as i get Moebius and Jolly Jacks colours out of my mind !

my wife and i both crashed our old Windows comps about a decade ago - she got a new Windows laptop and i had her old multi-media comp wiped and installed Ubuntu and Kubuntu. Now my kids have built me a new super comp and i'll probably go with partitions of Mint (ease of use), Ubuntu (Stockholm syndrome), and Windows for those few programs that don't work well in Wine. i also have a nefarious plan for a Raspberry Pi4 living room system. nefarious i tells ya !
i hadn't heard of using a Pi for digital to analog conversion - makes me wonder if an ARM chip is fast enough to do that well. i think i'll eventually get around to getting some audio stuff from Schiit as their budget DAC is only around 100 bucks but uses some of the tech as their high end stuff that goes for 2,000+ : https://www.schiit.com/products/mod.....SABEgLhBfD_BwE
i have a 1T Barracuda that is about five or six years old - i'll be transferring that to the new comp (along with an external 2T Seagate and another back-up drive) but i'm looking forward to running my OSs from an SSD.

i was an N.C.Wyeth fan many years before clicking with A.W.'s paintings. NCW was in the same illustrative/fantasy genres that i grew up with - he was influenced by Winslow Homer and in turn influenced so many artists including Jeffrey Jones. Some of their paintings are quite similar in style.
Back around 1970 I watched a very well done biographical film about Andrew Wyeth. It spent a lot of resources on N.C. Wyeth, and when it finally got around to N.C.'s death it was a bit of a shock -- I was ignorant of his life beyond his illustrations in my books. Wish I could remember the name of the film or the filmmaker. The image of the railroad crossing is forever burned into my mind.
A tragic end, ... but i can't reduce a full life of wonder and genius to those few seconds. we all die. die in bed. fall off a balcony. get dissolved by a Martian Death Ray. i am concerned with how artists lived - their imagination and creativity. Bach would not be less Bach if he died in a farting contest.
