Osferth is a retired adventurer. He is an owlbear who was meant to be a personal bodyguard to a powerful wizard. When that wizard was eventually defeated, the adventurers found that Osferth had little desire to fight and was quite helpless without someone to tell him what to do. They took him and began to teach him about the world outside of the tower that he once called home. Slowly, Osferth grew into a capable fighter and a stalwart companion. He travelled with his new companions for many years before deciding he wanted to travel on his own and find himself.
This journey took him throughout troubled lands where he tried to free those held in bondage. This caused him to gather a great many followers until finally he led his assembled army against a brutal lord, freeing an entire province. The people wanted to make him their ruler and Osferth accepted. He now spends his later years in his keep, training new recruits and keeping the peace in his lands.
