So yeah, the Gulli species are essentially slime-based xenomorphs in a sense; they can only reproduce by finding a suitable host, getting through to them orally, and going from there. Both males and females are capable of doing so, to any host, hence why the one we saw before was female. Chances are there are more of them on this ship...
