He should move out. He's out of high school, meaning old enough to take care of himself. Besides, with parents like those, I think any gay person in the area would slap the hell out of them in public.

Then he'd have to worry about college finances on his own. In some cases, it's better to deal with a "unsatisfactory" family than lose an opportunity like that.

Can understand his position however. Have been in a similar one. Even though possessing the ability to have feelings for anyone, have a 'social preference' for the opposite, as then at least would not have to 'dissappoint the family'. Not fun, to have those feelings constantly running around in the head.

Now, the reason for saying this. Essentially it means, a comment such as that, you should not take to heart. If anything it shows how strongly he did feel for and about you, to risk it, and actually get a bit closer to you. The fear would have been there constantly, and so that comment demonstrates more that you are the lucky one.

It must be terribly hard to go though something like that, and you're really showing your strength to show an image like this.
