The 27th was the reptile expo I've been looking forward to for months!! I wasn't able to hang out with my friend like we'd planned because she got the wrong time slots for her tickets, but I finally got to pick up my new boy!!
Achilles is my new northern white lipped python, or D'albertis python, that I got from NERD(thanks, Kev!!!), who you can totally watch on youtube. This guy is the reason for all of the big YCHs lately, and he was so worth it <3 These guys have been a dream snake for quite a while, and now I finally have one! I brought him home while in blue, but you can still see hints of the rainbow iridescence on his sides, which looks so much better in person.
Now that the week resting period is over, I can start working with him to tame him down, since white-lippeds are known to be flighty and nippy, especially since most are wild-caught because of few breeders willing to work with them(I'm hoping to change that ;3). I've already been bitten and musked on, but he's so little that it's cute right now ;3; And today's session went well. He's tense, but I can tell he's going to be quite the curious one once he loosens up
His name is Achilles because he's my weakness <3 I don't know 100% if I'll keep the name yet, but I feel like it fits him
And shout out to Kevin and Jacob for helping me pick this guy out! I told them what kind of personality I was looking for, and they took the time to find the one best for me. You can find NERD's channel here!
