I prefer OC have backstories and when people make pictures. They try to maintain the “canon” to some degree.

Backstories are always good , because it makes the character more individual, gives an impetus to creating different situations or complements his character , it's interesting to think of something in its own way or admire when others come up with more, so in my humble opinion, it's not at all superfluous and it's interesting to read from you how you see your characters ;)

Now Ren is possibly the strongest alongside his mother, Shizu. From the way he looks here, and how you designed him. :)

Especially on how he's designed. He's probably the handsome one, and is fairly the same as the other rats in the group, of the Rat Gang. And again, even the strongest like his mom. With that button up shirt, fingerless gloves & jacket hanging over his shoulders. Plus that sword (or Machete) his wielding. You sure made some interesting outfit/attire design for him and the others. All on him looks awesome. :D

Gonna be used once Ren, Shizu & the other Anthro Rats are released soon. :) Good Job, Petruz. You Anthropomorphic Creating man! :D XD
