Hanger 17 and ½
It had been a long shift week of work for Shinden going through the daily grind of his personal hangar activities. The wolf had set-up shop for the past five years working as an air traffic controller for a nearby airport, taking in the sights of the planes he loved while watching over the traffic that came through and helping navigate from a seat up in the tower with a few others. About twice a week he’d be on call for part time work by his employer to assist the latter half of the day loading/unloading planes that came in, as well as checking the loading bay of packages or luggage that came in for lost and found. Labor intensive? Sure, yet with the added benefit of being upclose to sometimes take a quick peek inside these huge flying machines, Shinden wasn’t one to complain about that.
“Wheww...so can’t wait for the weekend after this,” the aviation wolf sighed with a stroke of his brow, putting his hat back on with glance out of the hangar bay. It was a rather slow Friday for a change, yet the rest of the week being pretty grueling with minimal sleep with the airport activity. Shinden was midway through his loading shift today rather late in the afternoon, getting a chance to see the sun dip down while he and two others in the tower control looked after the airport before turning to head back inside. Being a small airport, they usually didn’t need many people on hand to keep it running smoothly; yet those busy days could really take a toll on anyone, including Shinden.
The wolf turned to see the next plane making its round down the track before pulling into the hangar, gesturing for the pilot to park in the second spot while he slipped his gloves back on. It was a somewhat small plane, a Cessna 208 Caravan being used for vacation flights or cargo delivery transport, sporting a nice red paint coat with some yellow streaks on the underside with an etched logo on the tail end. Not a common plane to make a stop at this airport, the wolf thought with a stroke of his chin, shrugging some with a wave at the pilot taking his leave for the day while Shinden got to work. He’d have till Sunday to get the plane touched up before the next flight, but he was confident with how slow things were going today he’d have it wrapped up by nightfall if anything.
Shinden inspected the plane well while he refueled and emptied out the cargo hold, dropping the luggage boxes on a cart to be wheeled off. Taking them over to the x-ray scanner, the wolf plopped on his chair after lining up the 5 boxes on the conveyor belt, the machine humming with a start up as it pulled the packages one by one for Shinden to look at; you know, to make sure that pilot wasn’t transporting “red-flagged or illegal” items. “Hmmmm nothing odd about this load,” Shinden murmured to himself. “Looks like things from a trade expo or storage facility. Probably for a museum. Wait a second!” The wolf caught something in the second box, turning off the machine to take a look. His eyes must been messing with him from lack of sleep; there’s no way the box had something like that inside. Taking a moment to pop the grey plastic storage box open, he peered inside and there it was, laying right on top of other small pots and vases with foam packing for transport.
“No way…” It was a dullish gold lamp, partially tarnished on one side but looking like something of royalty. Even though it was the first time the wolf held one, his imagination was already running amok at the sight with his smirk. If children’s stories taught him anything, a lamp means there could be a genie; and genies grant wishes! Wishes that he could make the most of. “Oh man, this is too good,” he chuckled with glee. The wolf rubbed his thumb on the base, giving it a good wipe before waiting. “Come ooooonnnn genie. Time to wake you up,” rubbing the base more and more. Yet...nothing. Minutes passed with rubbing, and the lamp didn’t do a thing. “Hmmmm maybe I’m letting my imagination get to me,” he sighed while cleaning off what looked like etch markings of symbols near the lid, not sure what they read, before dropping it back inside the box.
“You should be careful with that you know.”
The wolf’s ears perked with a sudden spook, turning around to the voice behind him. “Who said that?!?”
His yellow eyes turned to be met by another pair mere inches away, blue eyes staring from the muzzle of a smirking blue wolf that seemingly levitated in midair with his feet pulled back; almost as if....he was relaxing the whole time without Shinden even noticing. Giving an amused grin all the while at the flustered aviation wolf and a sway back of his long black hair, the mysterious wolf waved a finger slyly with a layback. “Heheh, why I did silly. The ‘genie’ you so rudely woke up with your antics.”
“A-a g-genie?!,” Shinden stammered with a glance back and forth from the white-vested blue wolf to the lamp, his brain putting it all together. “So...so you do exist?!”
“That’s right mortal,” he nodded. “And since you know what I am, I assume you know what that entitles you to...yes?”
Shinden took a deep sigh, shaking off his jitters as his eyes lit up, like a kid on christmas morning while he quickly scooped back up the lamp. “Oh my god, oh my god; so I get three wishes to use now right?”
The blue wolf shook his head, chuckling with a gesture of one finger. “Sadly, I’m afraid not. Being as you are not a true master of me, I will only give you one wish. And that’s all.”
“Only one ehhh....” It was a roller coaster of emotions for Shinden today. First finding a lamp, then thinking there’s no genie. Now instead there IS a genie, but instead of the glorious 3 wishes….he can only settle for one. Hmmm...well, one is still better than none. “Alright, I have a suitable wish in mind then,” the wolf smirked with a rub of his paws.
“Name your wish, master. What desire do you wish fulfilled today?”
“Genie, I wish to have a dream airplane of my own.”
The blue wolf smirked with a nod, tossing his long black hair back as he turned to the empty spot 3 in the parking section. “Done.” A snap of his fingers echoed in the hangar, a large puff of blue smoke conjured from his finger sweeping out forth and enveloping the whole section, like a mini storm thundering over the ground. Shinden’s eyes stared in anticipation stepping forward, his maw slowly opening with a gleeful mention as the smoke slowly cleared to reveal the prize he seeked: a dazzling SIAI SF-260 plane in the most pristine condition imaginable. “No way...pinch me I must be dreaming. OOOFF!,” glancing to his side with a light soreness on his arm for a moment, the blue wolf lowering himself to the ground with a chuckle and rub of his fingers. “I didn’t mean literally you know…”
“Merely being sure,” the genie shrugged, gesturing a palm out for the wolf. “Go ahead, have a look.”
Shinden didn’t need to be told twice with a rush over to his new toy, those yellow eyes darting from feature to feature while he circled the plane. It had everything he wanted in his dreams to use with his friends. His own personal small plane to fly people about whenever he wished, and a decent enough space to carry the supplies he needed while not sacrificing on the mobility. It even came with the Allison Turboprop!!, he thought to himself with a look over of the front, seeing that beautiful midnight blue color coat the top half of the plane with a few yellow streaks on the tail, finished off with a nice gunmetal silver underbody and minimal gloss. I’ll be able to do so much with this bad boy. “Wait a second,” Shinden turned to face the genie that slowly walked toward him, arms at his back with that tail swaying about. “Won’t this arouse suspicion from the rest of the people that work here?”
As if on queue, the smug genie snapped his fingers to poof up a decent sized paper contract with a gold seal and red X stroke on the bottom end floating inches from Shinden, even having the aviator’s signature etched on it. “Not whenever you show them this. You can say you were gifted it by a former client and they’ll instantly believe you. Everything valid is in the fine print,” running a black claw lightly over the page.
“I see. It certainly covers what you’d find in any owner certificate,” Shinden nodded with a grasp of the paper. “Alright then, now to take this baby for a test flight after my shift! So, now that my wish is granted, I assume our business is done?” The aviator stared down at the lamp he held, not seeing the blue genie slide his way around to his back with a huge grin, leaning over his shoulder with a seemingly….larger size.
“Mmmmm not just yet, master. There is one other matter to attend to,” huffing out a light patch of blue smoke to get the wolf’s attention. “You see, now you must pay me my ‘tax’ to complete our little transaction, hmmm?,” leaning in as Shinden took a light step back, nervously chuckling.
“W-what do you mean?” The genie was about his size when Shinden first saw him, but now he seemed to look….rather large in comparison. In fact, the plane was starting to seem much bigger than before; along with the rest of the hangar with each passing second. “Durrf!! W-what’s going on?” The wolf stared over his frame as the lamp slipped out and on to the floor with a loud clank, his body shrinking all over with his brown aviator vest while he was baffled with what was happening. “I didn’t wish for this!”
“No ‘master’ you didn’t, but I CERTAINLY did,” the BIG blue wolf grinned as he reached down to grab Shinden, almost as he seemed to try to scurry away before being lifted up by his tail. “You see, since you are a temporary master, you don’t have full influence over me like a normal one. By making your wish, you must submit to what we call the “genie tax” to reimburse it. You will still have your new toy after this, but in the meantime....I get to have a toy of my own to play with for a bit.” The genie leaned in with that huge black nose, inches from the wolf who could only struggle in a panic.
“Put me down! I-I’m no toy!!”
“Oh...are you sure about that?” The question seemed rather open-ended, leaving Shinden to watch a small huff of blue fog sweep over his frame. In mere seconds his body started to look a lot more slick in appearance, a shimmer like latex going over his skin and coat. The large genie grabbed his arms gently with two fingers as he tugged the aviator’s body in two different directions, almost stretching him in and out over and over, leaving Shinden a bit dazed in a slump. The genie brought the wolf’s backside to his muzzle as he stood up, opening that large maw to take the end of Shinden’s tail in before taking a deep breath….and slowly huffing air into the fluff.
“I-I feel...ddurrff...rather f-funny!?!” Shinden’s frame tingled all over as energy and air seemed to flood into his shiny frame, glancing down with his feet flailing as his stomach began to inflate out. That white belly filled and stretched with the filling of air, a euphoric sensation of being lifted and light encompassing his thoughts as his frame enlarged in multiple areas: his paws enlarging in size, his rump bulging out in his green pants, his cheeks getting a tad puffy, and his hips and tail packing on extra girth. The wolf tried to speak, but only squeaky huffs came from his muzzle as the genie continued huffing slow bursts of magical air down his tail to the rest of his frame, stretching his small frame into a big round sphere inch by inch as his arms and legs splayed till they started sinking into his swelling body. “Meeepp!! I..I…!!”
“Mmmmm aren’t you a cute little balloon,” the blue genie chuckled before blowing another hefty shot down Shinden’s tail, stretching that belly and body even more to almost 5 times his small self. His frame had become stretched so much it started to even look rather transparent, the magical gas letting him stretch almost endlessly and begin to float on his own while his feet waddled frantically with a huge blush. “Now to see how high you’ll get to float around.”
“MMRRRFFF!” Each huff had made Shinden’s cheeks puff out considerably with squeaky moan, feeling as light as a feather yet as huge as a blimp in his mind with little means to move as he was turned over to face the large smug genie, a light sweat on the side of his cheek with worry. Suddenly, he could feel his frame tossed up high into the air, face rushing towards the top of the hangar ceiling as he flailed frantically, that large belly jiggling with air. Yet as fast as he flew, his descent fell only half as fast, spinning around in backflips over and over as the room spun in his eyes. “Mmmrrrfff.”
“And now…” The genie clasped both hands, anticipating the grey balloon-ball dropping down as he leaped up and gave a large smack at that bouncy belly, sending Shinden flying up again, stopping a few inches short of the ceiling before descending. The blue wolfer below chuckled in amusement as he continued batting the dazed balloon wolf repeatedly in similar fashion, almost as if it was a solo game of volleyball with no net, yet a REALLY large ball to bounce around that seemingly got bigger with each swing. Shinden moaned in a daze as each swing on his frame seemed to surge his body to expand even more, swelling his larger with magical gas and a bigger tail as he grew almost TWICE the size of his original ballooned form, the pressure inside him tingling him with urge to be released. His cheeks had gotten rather puffy to close his lips from speaking, yet if he could it would be probably with squeaky giggling or embarrassed huffs from all the antics affecting him at this point. The more he grew in size, he could only wonder how long till he “popped” at this rate, or how all this air would come out. “Heheh I guess I made you big enough.” With another slap up of that huge bouncy frame, the genie leapt up floating in the air with a snap of his fingers to conjure two large gloved hands within range of the floating balloon wolf, grasping him firmly as they started to squeeze. Those yellow eyes dilated from a huge build up of pressure as that tail wagged in panic, the sensation too much as Shinden’s maw opened with a huge huff of continuous air spilling out that sent him flying. That huge grey frame leaked of magical gas in mid flight, bouncing him over and over across the hangar like it was out of a cartoon of sorts, yet he seemingly felt no pain through any impact; it merely felt like he was being tickled with each poke he took.
“SSSSSHHHHHHH!!!!” The loud hiss of air spewing from Shinden’s maw echoed in the empty hangar, his size rapidly shrinking back while the genie was laughing uncontrollably at his former master’s embarassing state. “Oh man, you gave me a much needed laugh after being cooped up for a while” the genie chuckled while floating down to the fully deflated tiny wolf, laying on his chest with stars fluttering over his head. The poor aviator wolf had been knocked out cold, panting unconsciously as he laid sprawled out while the big blue finger gave him a magical poke. “I’d say your debt is paid.” Blue energy shrouded the wolf as his slick sheen faded, enlarging back to proper sized while passed out on the floor. “I’ll be sure to tidy up while you sleep. Least when you wake up, you can head home and not have to worry about well,” gesturing to the planes needing maintenance, “all of this.” With a snap of his fingers, the room rapidly began to organize itself back to normal, even the new plane Shinden wished for waiting in the spot he left it in. The lamp began to glow as it rose from the ground, taken up by the genie as he walked over with a smug look, rubbing his thumb over the surface as his lower frame dispersing into a thick cloud of blueberry smoke before receding back into the lamp tip; the object vanishing from sight mere seconds later. “Now to go find my next ‘master’ to service.”
