Well, the scenario that was playing in my had was this:

Fox and Wolf had just encountered each other on the battle field, yet again.
It was a brutal, all-out fight, and Wolf emerged victorious.
He was about to deliver the killing strike, but he caught himself, and thought that it wasn't worth it.
And so the Wolf took the Fox back home, to treat his wounds and nurse him back to health.
And what happens after is up to the watcher.
