Here's one of the more important weapons in the story, the legendary dragon slaying sword Ascalon.
"The sword Ascalon was forged many a millennium ago in a dwarven fortress by the blacksmith Eure Dragonkiller out of pure mithril, engraved with powerful runes by the mage Gera Grayhammer, and enchanted by several wizards of the Warcutter clan. While the resulting weapon was proven to be a powerful blade, it was too soon rendered useless to the dwarves when the only of their warriors strong enough to even lift the sword had lost one of her arms in combat. Years later, it fell into the hands of a human paladin called Lance Graves, who traveled the world along with his humble son, who aspired to be a knight as well some day and worked as his father's squire. Ascalon eventually became famous throughout the land as whilst wielding it, Lance's son, Richard Graves slew a crazed black dragon that had just killed Lance. The sword had granted the young squire great strength as Justin walked in his father's footsteps, protecting the people. Despite the fear Ascalon brought to dragon kind, its blade only met the flesh of the wicked, until one day the sword simply disappeared along with Justin, and was never seen again. By the time it disappeared, Ascalon had tasted the blood of over fifty dragons, and it was said that it could bisect a dragon with a single stroke."
Yes, I did write a large backstory for this single weapon.
