A deafeningly loud crack followed up a shattering boom, blew out over the cityscape, blasting windows and knocking people off their feet, panic was setting in, from the highest sky-scraper to the lowest alleyways and darkest nooks of the urban landscape. The sky churned and dark, black clouds rapidly rolled over everything, blotting out the sun. The first lightening strike landed in the middle of a busy intersection, a bright blue and white bolt from the sky struck and blew the entire block apart, vaporising the closest and ripping a chunk into the cities surface.
Next came the searing beams, from within the storm, her vessel fired its first broadside of lasers, cutting through several buildings at a time, carving molten scars into the planets surface and melting everything in their path, once proud and mighty structures crumbled and fell into rubble.
Within minutes, the entire horizon was blanketed in the blackest clouds, from which, death rained down. A mega-city that housed millions was being torn down and melted into slag. Fires erupted and the city was a mess of blazing infernos and vaporising plasma.
She picked the tallest structure to briefly touch down upon and admire her handy work.
“Isn't it brilliant? The air is alive with static and death.” She took a deep breath, savouring the flavour. The rooftop had a terrified group of civilians who were huddled on the otherside of the plaza from her, they looked wealthy, must have been the owner's of the sky-scraper or something, CEO types. One of them managed to scramble to his feet and sheepishly approached her.
“W-w-what do I have to pay to get out of here? N-name your price and take me with you.”
The others protested behind him
“What about us Frank?!”
“And them too? Or just me. Whatever is g-good.”
She burst out laughing, raising her arms to the sky as another bolt came crashing down nearly the building, rumbling through its foundations. The terrified crowd looked at her confoundedly as she continued to laugh heartily.
“I-is there something funny?” The first man asked, half giggling awkwardly along.
“Yes! There is! Did I invite you to talk to me?”
“I-”
“No.” She cut him off abruptly, surging forward and grasping him by the throat. “I did not invite you. Begone you atom-hog. I'm enjoying myself.” She hurled him off the side of the building with astounding strength and his falling body was intercepted by a precision laser beam, slicing him clean in two as he fell and impacted the ground, hundreds of meters below.
The crowd stared in silence.
“For understanding your place, i'll make this quick for the rest of you.” She smiled, raising her arms up once more and then pointing at them with a single outstretched finger, before they could respond or react, a bright blue bolt of lightening hit the roof and vaporised all of them, causing another excited laugh from her. She stood upon the now crumbling building, molten concrete hissing under her boots and she began pointing at other roofs and buildings, each getting annihilated in turn.
She took another deep breath, adoring the sheer energy present in the air. Her idea of fun, was to liberate areas from their matter, the carbon in their bodies and buildings would be better as ash, in her humble opinion...
Mad weapon genius Hex, on a rampage! Always nice to see Hex! Unless you live in my Heavy Weapon's universe, in which case, seeing Hex is a very, VERY bad thing.
