Okay, this just is an anime at this point. Granted, given context clues they've been dating for a while, but if it was a show, this would be the meet cute. As it stands, this is a weekday after school hours.

Kaho, of course, doesn't have a... life... as usually defined, and she's kind of okay with that. She was raised surrounded by shrine duties, and she was super excited by the idea that she could be part of it. So, here she is, not hanging out with friends (and admittedly, she has few besides Ame Ichoji and the theater kids) but rather working her duties. Which intersects somewhat, Ame is super devout even after resolving her issues with Bela, so she shows up a lot. And Nuka... Nuka is not naturally a tough guy. He's a natural bad boy, he's a Happytowner but not cynical or criminal. He's a mama's cub. And yet, he can lay claim to coming from The Streets, he's lived in the bad part of town. And isn't that exciting? This soft little daifuku tanuki Miko gets to be with a pre-tenderized delinquent. He doesn't need a full story arc, he's already kind and gentle and feeding little sparrows outside the shrine grounds. All the spice, none of the danger. And she just wanted to get a little closer. But, oops, anime protagonist clumsiness strikes! Not that Nuka cares. His dumpling nuki bumping him is an unexpected treat.

Life is good.
