Well, this was just supposed to be a tiny painting exercise, but it, as always, began eating up my time and I enjoyed it so much that I spent a couple more hours than I'd intended on it. I've come to really love Photoshop. And, after this piece, I've discovered a fun new way of painting inspired by Charlie Bowater. Maybe I'll try it out with my fA commissions, I'm not sure yet. I mean, it was easy to paint this (the lines weren't on a separate layer), since Kai is just white, but if I added markings and such? That'd be a pain. Mmm.

Anyway, here's Varekai, applying some face paint. Even though she's ~not realistic~ or whatever, I just love drawing her. Her face paint is especially fun. (:
