This one I first dabbled in further playing around with the idea of this setting, and it is with this I decided to write up small narrative blurbs about the pieces I make regarding this weird little setting of mine.

There was a sound, a noise that the emissaries had never heard before, but one that the locals were all too familiar with as the castle staff shuffled back as they let the scene unfold. They could only describe it as a 'wheezing' or a 'squealing', like flesh on glass or metal, but more 'airy'.
The diplomats traced the noise to the end of the table where the princess sat, who was too busy with her fifth bowl of rice to notice that her belly was sticking out unusually far. It was when the noise finally grew loud enough that it broke her concentration on her meal that she looked down to see and feel her silk outfit starting to strain.
Letting her utensils slip through her hand, she placed it on the tautest part of her kimono. She started glancing a look of shock to the other guests as she swelled up in her seat. The bowl of rice hopped out of her grasp as the digits plumped on her hand.
The noise was getting loud and started to take on a hollow reverb from within the bloated princess. Who started to wave her arms to maintain balance on her knees, reaching out for aid from the equally helpless guests.
"What's happening to her?" shouted an emissary.
"Th-the curse is real!" concluded another as they looked on in bewilderment.
Binds and ties began to pop and fray one by one as her already revealing kimono was tearing up from the inside out. Her hips and belly started to show, as if the stretching robe was a curtain being drawn up. The princess yelped and grunted while her swelling body sang with gurgles and that squealing noise.
At first she seemed to rise to stand, but it was soon shown it was involuntarily as her feet started to search for the ground. She lightly lifted off the floor as she flailed her limbs in a vain attempt to swim or scoot back down.
"With one last greedy bite, she's a balloon fit for the festival!"
The guests immediately stared at the new presence in the room, a vixen in absurdly racy garb and swirling hair. The woman half-giggled as she watched the princess flounder towards the ceiling, joining the other balloons serving as decoration.
"Change her back!" an ambassador demanded.
"If I could, there wouldn't have been a curse in the first place." she answered as she leaned on a door frame, using the pipe in her hand to gesture towards her gold laced belt. "Everyone did warn her about it, those cursed with the Fusen no noroi are not an act or illusion"
"What's going to happen to her?" the princess's maid asked, seeing the local staff starting to move her.
"Most likely taken to the shrine garden, it's were we usually keep our more 'burgeoning' guests" the vixen smoked her pipe, "for the time being of course, she is free to be sent home any time after today."
"How are we going to explain to the Clan that the princess is now an enormous balloon!?" an emissary begged.
The princess moaned and flapped her swollen arms as the Goddess approached, fiery blue wisps following in the kitsune's footsteps. The Goddess inspected the gargantuan grey-furred stomach before her with a casual prod of her palm.
"That would be a question for tomorrow." she smirked, "today, I think I found the answer to mine; who's going to be this years parade float?"
