Sure hope all titans escaped the blast. more so if their co-pilots disconnected before they got white washed.

I hope she's not the only one who survived this - assuming she did survive.

At this point, is it safe to assume that almost all the Titan types we saw at the beginning of this project came as a result of whatever military operation this was?

I think this right here really sets the tone for the series.
The titans are massive. They were made to be the bulwark, the wall upon which the enemy would break. Each one is a force of nature unto themselves.
But here we see they face a foe of truly nightmarish proportions. A force so terrible and vast that it beggars the imagination.
How could anyone, man or titan, ever hope to survive, let alone defeat, such monsters?
I am well and truly hooked. I need to see more.

I wanted to add that this is a pleasant surprise otherwise, one might expect either both would survive, or the human might survive- because the human's gotta be the main character, right?! But nope!

You know this reminds me of some art pieces made by the artist Roo-meister. The were of a post apocalyptic city with macro cybernetic dragons looking for humans to claim as pilots.
