25th Anniversary
(1996 - 2021)
Yes... 25 years ago I created "Reptile" and here is the very first coloured comic panel in which he appeared:
https://reptile-universum.de/reptil.....96-Reptile.png
After all this time it was only fitting to remake this scene. How would this comic page look if I did it TODAY? Well, here you have it!
Yeah, Reptile is much younger and it's weird to see him this way... but it's cool anyway!
I know the lighting is not realistic but I wanted some kind of "80s-fantasy-cover-art" feeling.
Enjoy!
^^
Drawing media:
Pencils, ink, brush, COPICS, markers, coloured pencils, acrylics (no digital media except adding some contrast)

You're welcome, I totally respect your devotion to other things but still a shame you cannot produce more of these awesome pieces, but this is at least something :) Excellent work on this once more! :)
The traditional art definitely has its charms, also looks still really impressive on wall when properly put in frames too, definitely worth it. I dare to defend digital still to an extent, it does take its own effort but once you figure out what are good brushes that even these days possibly can mimic brushes and pens near perfectly, it can be impressive then? :)

Only the best technique and style for a special moment or event! :3
And this surely is a special anniversary for REPTILE! ^^
Thanks a lot for the comment, my dear. That's highly appreciated!
And yeah... well, in another 25 years... who knows? I bet he'll get a few sharper scales and thorns... maybe his body will be even darker... we shall see.

**Imagines grandpa Reptile** XD
You know, just like Terry Pratchett's Cohen :P https://discworld.fandom.com/wiki/Cohen

Well, another 75 would be great!! XD
Thanks for the comment, my friend. I hope you're fine as well. I can't complain (at the moment) because I have holidays. It's been a tough year for sure... but now it's time to relax.
I hope you have no problems... I was worried about the heat in Canada!
And that's when I had to think about you too.

Work is keeping me occupied but I think I've begun to get a ritual in the morning that allows me to pick up the pencil and draw again. Every day I've been wanting to give it another try but couldn't bring myself to doing it. Now that I've finally started, I don't want to stop!
The heat was pretty intense, haven't felt something like that since traveling to Las Vegas. I much prefer the colder temperatures, easier to add more layers of clothing as I'm sure you're well aware in Germany :)
I really hope you enjoy your vacation and take a much needed break!
Oh! And if I may ask, on the piece I'm working on, would you mind possibly looking it over and providing some feedback? That's if it's not too much trouble.
Be well and talk soon. < 3

Awesome 25th Anniversary-special artwork! Yeah, the classic Reptile fashion with a simplest and modest loincloth and gauntlets, aside from fundoshi alone, hehehe. *winks*
Good work redrawing the reptilian hero~ ;)
Also, is it just me or his digitigrade feet become bigger than before? x3

I remember when I first saw him while on my internet adventures during my high school years in the 90s browsing and looking at all kinds of anthro art. I would even go further as to say I believe he could've been my first influence as to what scalies are and how much I came to love reptile characters!
It was an amazing experience back then and still is to see this amazing character now!
Happy 25th!!! 🍻

Hello there!
You see now... THAT is one reason WHY I keep Reptile alive... why I keep going... why I keep drawing and sharing: So many cool memories are connected to this fantasy universe and I'm hubmle and impressed how much this has touched other people. So many people have memories about their own past... and it's somehow connected to this "stupid little character" I have created.
^^ It's nothing special at all. BUT you guys make it special! You make my creation much MORE than it is... more than it was.
In the beginning it was just an anthro dinosaur... just for fun. Only for myself!
But then... it became much, much more. Reptile made so many people happy and I am truly grateful!!!!
THANKS!!

Yeah, my friend... it's been 25 years and I've been planning this artwork for months now. ^^"
It is not THAT special I have to admit... the drawing I mean. Not really dynamic and cool... BUT the intention and the reason to draw it... that was important.
Thanks for the comment!

ReptileCynrik, I have always personally believed you to be one of the "old masters" of the furry artistic landscape. Providing the community with a staggering 25 years worth of exquiste creature based artwork is a claim that barely a handful of any other artists could scarcely make. The creative engineering in your artwork has always struck me as being a unique polished shamanism, a skilled visual masonry that is as brilliant as it is beautiful. Reptile is an incredibly sexy furry Rock Star! He always has been, and always will be! Chisled muscles over dark emerald skin, coupled with a friendly and chivalrous demeanor. What's not to love?!
My own tale of how I discovered your work is similar to some of the others. I finally got cable internet when it first came out in 1996, and my realization into the furry fandom slowly dawned as the early 2000's began to creep up. I found Reptile either on DeviantArt or some yahoo groups or something, and I thought he was a STUD! Shortly thereafter I found your personal website and the rest flows into the halls of history.
The potential for Reptile's future.... not even the sky is the limit! Rock on, ReptileCynrik! Use your god-tier artistic talent and keep fashioning more salacious encounters of this monster powerhouse!

Oh my... usually I am the one writing extended, constructive comments. But... being on the receiving end for a change is... rather awesome.
I'm truly grateful and feel honored by your well-chosen words.
You put it all together... you found the right words.
At first, I created Reptile and his stories only for my own entertainment.
Sure thing!
But when my website aired in 2001 and I have known about DA too, it all began to become international so to speak.
XD
Reptile was open for the world!!!
There were good and bad times... love, hate, trolls, sometimes a bit too much porn (I almost lost the character in the porn genre for a brief time)... it all shaped his personality.
Don't get me wrong... I still enjoy the rather exquisite, naughty artworks... but it was a bit too much in a short time. I'm happy that I've found a balance of clean art and a seasonal surprise sexy poser artwork called "SWIMSUIT EDITION"!
But I love your term "Powerhouse"!!!!!
Thanks very much... now I did find lots of words too.
XD
Anyhow... THANKS A LOT!!!
And yes... I won't stop!

Another thing that truly mesmerizes me about your creative workflow is the sheer impressiveness of much you interact with your fans. It seems that almost every follower of yours who posts a comment gets a kind hearted and endearing response from yourself. Such a monumental level of mutual respect to your fan base is almost unheard of. There's barely a handful of furry art gods out there who are this generous with their admirers, and you are certainly one of them. God bless you, sir.
I've noticed on mostly all of your artistic uploads, that there are so many comments that the vertical scroll bar on the browser becomes thin as a tooth pick. This is solid proof of how reliably the community flocks to ReptileCynrik for their next dose of the continuing artistic adventures of Reptile and his perfect, sculpted muscular body. Such a physique like Reptile's... this perfection only exists in the realm of creativity, it seems. But what I meant to say was, your popularity is legendary and only continues to grow and evolve, much like the nature of your artwork itself. Both your creativity and your notoriety are a living organism that moves and changes with the passage of time. Such is the hallmark of a master artist.
I don't know much about your relationship with djdarkfox but certainly right there is a fellow furry art god that has acknowledged you as his equal. His personal acceptance of your skill should be all the emotional reinforcement you need to understand and secure your position as an "old master" of the furry art world. Your talent stands tall, right up there with the best of them.
To be truthful, I was always a little intimidated by the sheer size of your reputation, and felt nervous posting anything out of the concern that I would simply drown in the endless sea of your other supporters. Normally I try to find artists who are talented but for whatever reason, do not currently have the level of fame they deserve. Since that obviously wasn't the case with the masterful ReptileCynrik, I knew I would have to make special arrangements for the hallowed 25th anniversary of Reptile!
Again, thank you for allowing us to ride the magic carpet of your artistic imagination. Reptile is a graceful dancer, yielding a performance of timeless elegance, and we are all the richer for his performance through the decades.

It really pleases me to receive another huge, interesting, well-written and honest comment... thank you already! ^^
When it comes to comments I always try to reply at least with a few words. There is no "rule" that one has to reply to everything... but still I think it's only decent and respectful. Just like you: You took your time writing all those words and it's only fair to write a nice reply... at least that's my opinion.
And I don't think it's arrogant if an artist does NOT reply... but well... I just think it's the decent thing to do. ^^
The amount of comments is usually doubled if I reply (!!!) - but I don't do this to have a bigger count... *grins* It's just the way it is. ^^"
I'm truly grateful (and I hope people read your little conversation here as well) that REPTILE gained so many followers over the past 25 years. It started off as something I did only for myself and thanks to the internet I was able to share it.
And as long as people love it I will continue.
Furthermore... there has been SO MUCH "Fan Art" over the years... people put love and work into REPTILE and his universe... and this made him greater and cooler. And I keep this stuff like a treasure.
Look here:
https://www.reptile-universum.de/in...../GuestArt.html
But it's not only drawings... people helped me design my world (such as castle "Riverstone" or the main city "Tyros") and they helped me develop all characters... REPTILE and his friends and enemies... every character benefits from ideas and designs.
^^
DJ DARKFOX is a close personal friend of mine and we meet each other a few times a year. Yes, we share time and art as well.
I would never call myself an "art god" or "master" because you never stop learning... but it flatters me and I'm glad you think so.
Never feel nervous to write me... that's perfectly fine! :3
I like reading and writing comments. And I'm always turning red a little bit when people tell me they were "afraid to write me" or something like this.
I am just a normal human! Just an artist who enjoys this hobby!
^^"
Maybe, you had some bad experience with other "big names"... some huge artists can appear arrogant or smug... but that's their business. I think this is a place to have fun. Everyone should enjoy this here!
^^
Thank you again for this nice conversation and never feel shy to write!!!! :3

Modesty has a face! Mr. Cynrik, you are literally the first artist I've ever met to actively reject the lavish monikers 'art god' or 'old master'! The heavens themselves are electrified with your thunderous yet gentle humility.
WOW! I had not seen that page on your website before! With all the fan artwork, organized by the artist's name. Now, THAT'S when you know you've made it! When you have so many other artistic warriors submitting their compositions for your consideration. Reptile's world tour, indeed!
Your talent is a force of nature. An artist that is surrounded by the luxury of decades worth of his work is never lonely and never isolated. These are the best of friends. You have solidified your place in the history books of the furry community, and we are immensely privileged to have you here.
Knowing others make you wise, and knowing yourself makes you enlightened. Go now, Reptile! You have the precious gift of youth! The furry artistic landscape is an exotic tapestry, and you will forever be a part of it's brilliant mosaic. The next generation of artists will intrinsically assimilate your style, and adopt your heroic mantra for countless threads of spiritual inspiration!

"Reptile World Tour" sounds awesome and... thanks to the internet it has already happened.
You know... I never actually planned to create a "legacy" of some sort.
But..
when I discovered that many people have prints or real artworks of Reptile in their homes... well... this means that he made his way to other places already.
And it's a great feeling to know that my creation is being loved by others than myself.
I hope other people will continue and keep him alive... even when I'm gone.
But I'm still around!!! ^^

As I mentioned you before, the composition here as well as the lighting effects came out really amazing : D Also you kinda were right about the digital pic, the shade´s level in Reptile are more clear and makes his shading work to be well adapted into the ambient´s illumination, especially that light on his edges ; )
