Hello again! New song here. Not a lot to say about this one except I went full Age of Empires, lol. I had wanted to tell a story with the instruments, bringing them in one at a time in the chronological order of when they were invented, a telling of the growth of human civilization through song; perhaps starting out with nothing but wind, and then the introduction of human voices, then frame drums, then the flute, then the dulcimer.
But ultimately after messing around a lot, it was way too convoluted -- so what I've ended up with is a just a funky Ensemble Studios style track. I'm still very happy with it, lol.
I hope you like it too. :3
The key is B Dorian.

Oh my god this captures that Age of Empires / Age of Mythology aesthetic so perfectly it's almost uncanny lol.
I'm always a sucker for the dorian mode, and I love the part starting at like 1:35 in particular! I wasn't expecting the G chord at 1:52 and it makes for such a satisfying resolution, especially with the way the bass drum comes back in. Awesome job!

Hah, yeah. For that little section I played around with the first inversion of the tonic chord, moving between Bmadd11 (over D) and E7 (which is a IV7). The chord that goes to isn't G, but actually an Emadd4, which is a iv chord in the scale of B minor. So I'm playing in dorian, and for that one chord I do some modal interchange and revert back to B natural minor.
I'm really happy you liked it, though ^^ And thank ye for being one of my fans :D I super appreciate you taking the time to enjoy my music, lol :3
